"What's your name?" The boy asked me, he had laid down on his mattress and had stayed quiet for hours.

"Rain."

"That's pretty," I blushed in my bed. "My name is Drake."

I smiled. For three nights, I almost didn't sleep, I was too busy listening to Drake's breathing, it calmed me. It made me feel so peaceful.

A few days later, when I woke up he was gone, along with everything else. They were going to kill me. Thoughts filled my head. They had no more reason for me to live, they couldn't prove that I'm not normal. My breathing became heavy, I had about 20 minutes before the drug started taking effect. I filled my lungs with air, I felt the world twist and turn around me, making me feel like I was falling, I felt my hand drop from the weight of an object, I breathed out and opened my eyes. A small key fit perfectly in my small hand. I quickly shoved it into the door lock and twisted it, when I heard a click my brain started pounding. I did it. I can get out of this hell hole. I felt my cheek get wet with happiness.

I ran, I  didn't know where I was going, I ran through endless halls, I passed countless doors like mine.

Did they have more people like me? Was I not the only one?

I found an open window and climbed through, why am I being such a rebel? I laughed to myself. Because its what I want. I held my breath, its just like what I imagined from my dreams, the colors are a bit off, and my eyes took a second to adjust, but I was finally free. I took a step forward, the pavement was cold on my bare feet, I shivered at the cold air biting at my bare skin, all I had was the black shorts and shirt I always wear. The buildings around me are tall and shiny, I looked back at the only place I've ever called home, I hate it. I hate it with all my heart.

"Rain?" That deep voice that I could recognize anywhere came from behind me.

"Drake!" I ran into his arms, I didn't really know why but I had a dream that someone did it, I just stood there in front of him with his arms around me. His soft hands where warm on my back.

He looked around, "did they let you out?"

"No." I stepped away from him. He quickly took off his coat and wrapped it around my shoulders.

His eyes widened with realization, "you escaped?!"

I nodded with a smirk filling my lips.

"Where are you going to go?" He asked shaking his head.

I hadn't thought about that part, I could be one of those people that live on the streets. Or I could become an orphan since I have no proof that my parents are even still alive.

Snapping me out of my thoughts  he pushed me toward a small car, "come on," I still don't understand the concept of these things, so I just stood outside of it, waiting. "Oh right." Drake muttered, he came around and opened the door for me. "Well? Go on, sit down." So I did.

Let's just say I grabbed on for my dear life to anything I could find.
