I yawned into the silk pillows, my hair falling into my mouth. I looked out the window to see small drops of rain falling down like they did in Drake's car.

All of a sudden I heard someone yelling on the first floor, I slowly went down the stairs so they wouldn't creak, when I reached the last stair I could hear the voices more clearly. A deep one obviously Drake's, and a female one she sounded young, I slowed my breathing and listened to then as they talked at the entrance.

"It doesn't matter anymore!" Drake said, "I'm done. Done with this and done with you."

"No Drake, it does matter. You know what you promised me." The female voice said, clearly trying to convince Drake he was wrong.

"I know Jessamine, but its different now, things have changed. I'm sorry, can't you just leave and forget it?" Drake said, "please."

"Fine Drake. Fine." Jessamine said.

It was quiet for a second until I heard Jessamine's hand make contact with Drakes cheek and his head whipped to the side. I ran out, "Drake!" I yelled.

"Its fine Rain, Jessamine was just leaving." He shut the door in her face and walked away, leaving me there with nothing to do.

Before he reached the stairs he turned and smiled at me with half his face red from the slap. I ran after him, halfway up the stairs, and hugged him without a second thought.

"Why are you hugging me?" He said trying to push me away.

"I don't really know," I admitted, letting him go.

"I'm fine. just leave me alone." Drake continued up the stairs going two steps at a time.

I turned towards the entrance and opened the door feeling the chill all the way down my spine, not bothering to grab some shoes I ran, I didn't know where I was going I just knew I was already getting tired of humans. After running for awhile I realized I had not gotten tired like I was invincible. Unbreakable. Free.
