"They are dead." The voice made me shiver.
"Who?" I said the the shadow in the corner, i was stuck in a small room similar to the one i have always lived in.
"They are dead."
"Who?" I lowered my voice, almost to a growl.
The world twisted around.
I opened my eyes, cringing at the ray of light from the windows on top of my bed.
Ugh. Stupid dream.
I got up, and put on some jeans and a black T-shirt brushing my long hair with the new brush Shelby had just gotten me yesterday. As I made my way down the stairs a shoulder brushed mine, Drake turned around at the bottom of the stairs, and smirked at me, "I win."
I ran past him to the kitchen, and sat on a stool, "I win," I smirked at Drake when he came in.
He rolled his eyes and sat down.
"Sleep OK?" Drakes dad said, handing me a small plate of bacon and eggs. It smelled way better than moldy bread and dry cake.
"Mhmm," I hummed, too busy digging into the food. "Thank you so much for the new clothes Shelby, and the hair products, I never knew my hair could be so smooth."
She smiled, her eyes looked so happy, she seemed to be humming under her breath and slightly jumpy. Her husband stared at her with a curious look on his face, he slowly chewed his food. He looked at me, and smiled.
"I um, found some information, " his face lowered, frowning slightly, "about your family."
"Yeah?!" I jumped a little, exited.
"You have a brother, in college, lives about three hours away."
"And my parents?" I asked, dropping my fork on my plate. "Are they.. Alive?"
He looked up quickly, "why would you say that?"
"Nothing, just a feeling," I shook my head.
"Oh, " he frowned. "I can't find anything about them."
Drake looked up from his plate, "I'll drive you to your brothers university today. Maybe we can catch him before he goes home."
"Ok," I smiled at him.

I looked around the university parking lot, after a rush of students passed by I was sure we had missed seeing my brother when Drake tapped my shoulder, pointing at a tall guy surrounded by a group of people, he had the same color hair as me, "is that?....."
I rushed to the guy, pushing past people. He turned around just as I reached him, his face twisted in confusion before a sadness made its way to his face, "yes?" He asked, casually shoving his hands in his pockets, all traces of emotion gone from his face, "if you want my number you just have to ask for it."
"No, I want to know....."
"Yeah?" He said getting impatient.
"Are you my brother?" I looked up at him, tears forming in my eyes.
He looked at me before slowly shaking his head, "my sister is dead."
"No!" I felt the wetness on my cheek, I didn't know if it was from pain because my own brother didn't recognise me, or happiness from finally seeing someone from my dreams.
"Rain?" He looked at my eyes, "it is you isn't it?" He came forward embracing me in a hug. Is that all humans ever do? Hug? Hey, its not like I'm complaining, people are warm. And smell good.
