Luckily, Jensi realized quickly that the door closing was not the act of another person, but just the wind. He and Ivan looked at eachother and breathed a sigh of relief. Though, Jensi could sense that Ivan was still uneasy about being here in the first place.

They looked around and the first thing Jensi noticed was that the house was clean. The way he remembered it, was messy with newspapers strewn all over the floor. He also noticed that the bag she gave them the gadgets out of was gone too.

       Very strange.

It almost looked like nobody was living here at all. Of course Amaya's dad was  probably staying at the police station anyway, so people probably didn't live there.

Jensi reached in his pocket to look at the gadget she had given them, Ivan agreed that they weren't going to touch the thing until they were completely sure that it wasn't harmful. Nothing was completely certain in these very unwavering times. He trudged along into the kitchen, while Ivan stayed in the living room. He was staring at something, but Jensi wasn't sure what it was.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary in this house and at the same time everything felt out of place. The Air felt very heavy at all that had taken place. Jensi looked in the fridge and noticed all the food that was in there. All of it was rotten and moldy to his expectation since no one had been there in a while.

It made him think, though. They needed food!

He started to panic inside his mind. How could they have forgotten about food. His mom had texted him to go to the store later that afternoon, after he had told her he had money, so she wouldn't worry. She would be gone for a while.

He was about to go tell Ivan, when he realized what he had been looking at in the living room.

      Blood.

Drips everywhere that led to a giant pile right where Rose had died.

What was really strange to Jensi was the fact that nobody had cleaned it up. Everything was clean except for the most striking evidence. What is going on? Jensi wondered in his head.

Ivan looked up at him with a very stern look on his face. "We need to leave, there's nothing here and I can't bear to look at this crime scene of a house any longer."

Jensi agreed, and they hopped in his car and drove away.

They arrived at the local supermarket shortly after, where Jensi informed Ivan that they needed food in order to survive in his house any longer. After they got inside, Jensi noticed the prices were up, though it was in the middle of spring so there really weren't any holidays to make prices lower. Nothing was on sale. Ivan had a little money and told Jensi he would help pay for everything.

And with that, they made it out of the store with a few frozen pizzas, cheap salad, frozen chicken nuggets and fries, and a small pack of water. Not the most ideal choices of food, but they weren't in the mood to be picky at the moment. This was what they had agreed on and what was in their price range.

They headed home to Jensi's house after an unsuccessful day of looking for clues. Nothing seemed hopeful at the moment, but that could have been due to Jensi's lack of sleep, so as soon as they got home, they cooked a pizza and ate very fast and went straight to bed.
