Fleur sat on the concrete floor, still processing the fact that she would be here forever in this place.

Well, maybe not forever... She thought, still annoyed by the fact that she was here and doing the same routine everyday.

It was time to eat yet again. The same old food. The same old concrete floor with light short enough to where she couldn't see the room around her. She couldn't wait here forever, she knew that.

What am I going to do? I can't stay here any longer and let my mind be tortured by their games. I've been playing by their rules for far too long and it's time I create my own rules.

With each thought, she was growing more and more confident.

Suddenly she had a flashback. It was her doing karate. She was sparring an adult and her punches were missing, but she was dodging. Somehow her dodges were just enough to win the match.

She related the flashback to her situation. Maybe she couldn't stand up and fight back, but she could dodge. Somehow that comforted her enough and she found the courage to stand up.

She didn't hear anything, but she could sense that they were becoming uneasy.

Fleur looked for something she could throw at the person who brought her in the room everyday. Although she couldn't see it, she knew exactly where the door was that she was brought through. She had been taken through it so many times that she had somehow subconsciously memorized the path.

Fleur knew she could take them by surprise, she had been playing the victim for so long and now it was time to play the victor role.

She picked up her tray of food and stepped towards the door a few feet.

They think I'm just giving my tray back. They'll never guess my next move. She thought, as a smirk was created by her mouth.

She got her arm steady and threw the tray towards the direction she thought the guard should be in, praying she was correct.

For a split second, panic flew through Fleur's head, as she thought about missing the target. She couldn't imagine the punishment.

Luckily that fear lasted shortly, as she heard a groan and the tray slammed on the floor.

She sprinted straight for the door. Her legs felt like jelly, since she had been walking everywhere for the past, who knows how long.

Fleur luckily had great memorization skills, for she made it out the door with no trouble at all. Once she got in the hallway and saw how the rooms were set up, then it became a small issue.

She was hoping to be able to rescue a few other people. The only person she saw was a light skinned boy, with black hair. It looked as if he was waiting to be taken to his room. Before he could walk in the room, she sprinted towards him. She grabbed his wrist as he gasped and followed.

The guard lunged at her, to grab her, but she was too quick and ducked out of the way.

"The names Fleur!" She yelled at the boy through gasping breaths as she kept sprinting. "I'm here to get us both out of this place."

She hoped that were true as she ran toward what looked like a door that led outside.

However, there was no door. It was just an open hole, just like the rooms....

Anxiety rushed through Fleur's head.

What if this is just another room?

Her head started spinning just like the first time that they originally took her, back when she was little.

UPDATE # 3:

Hello and welcome to another short update, where I ramble on about nothing.
I really hope you enjoyed this chapter and the other chapters in this book so far. It is really exciting to get the narrative I am trying to tell written completely as I prepare to release the final few chapters.

Don't worry, there are still going to be five more chapters, with chapter 20 being in Milo's third person perspective, per usual. But after that I will move on to the closing parts of this book.

These chapters will be called "The final chapters"

Thank you for the support as I close out this book and move on to the final chapters.

Enough spoilers though, let's move on to other topics. As I have mentioned in the other updates, I do have an illustrator, currently illustrating the main characters of this book. However, they are quite busy, so I have no control over when I will be able to release these. But I am hoping soon.

Lastly, I want to thank you for all the support and look out for the illustrations for these five chapters (drawn by me), as well as "The Final Chapters"

Thanks
-Isaiah
