"It'll be fine, dad," said Leo nonchalantly as he balanced on the kitchen counter. The strange lady from the palace was now in his living room, interrogating-- sorry, getting to know-- Leo's mom. Leo couldn't hear much from his place in the kitchen, but from the bits he'd picked up, the palace was trying to figure out if he was a security threat.

They seemed to be laboring under the delusion that he was an undercover spy, which fulfilled all Leo's childhood dreams of espionage.

"Son, of all the stupid things you've done, this has to take the cake," said Hephaestus, even as he chuckled under his breath. Leo's dad had taken the news quite well, although he was a little concerned about his son messing with delicate matters of state. "Too late to go back now, I s'pose."

Leo grinned brightly. "You got that right."

Hephaestus shot him a look. "No funny business, alright? That prince is handsome, but-"

"Woah, woah," said Leo hastily, "I'm not gay."

"Always make sure to use protection-"

"DaAADDDDD!!!!" Leo wailed.

He was almost glad when the palace official told him it was time to go.
