L E O
Leo grimaced awkwardly at the wild crowds outside of the plane window-- his neck was sore after several hours of dozing. He started to yawn, before Piper stepped on his foot.
"What??"
"Sit up, get the gunk out of your eyes, smile," she said while messing with his hair. Leo tried to bat her hands away, but he was helpless against the onslaught of beautifying. "You need to make an impression, this is important."
He laughed. "I got in as a joke, nobody expects--"
"Leo." Piper looked very serious. "I don't know why they picked you, but they wouldn't have done it as a joke. There's another reason behind it, and if you don't perform, they won't give you another chance."
"Everyone heard what I wrote, if I act like a prissy..." Leo paused at the look on Piper's face, "... person, everyone will know I'm faking."
"Don't fake."
"What?"
"Be sarcastic. Be flirty. Heck, be obnoxious. Crack as many jokes as you can, do those cheesy finger guns. Your energy levels need to be at 110%, understand?"
"How is that making a good impression?"
Piper's devious grin sent chills down Leo's spine.
"Oh, I never said a good impression. They just need to remember you. I can sell the story of a confident renegade winning the heart of a prince, but not a lazy sluggard stumbling into the Selection by chance."
"So now you're my publicist?"
"Looks like it."
Leo cackled, tapping his fingers together. He had no idea what game Piper was playing at, but it made the trickster in him turn somersaults.
They weren't ready for Leonidas Valdez.
