Chapter 14: Temptation

"Piss off Sirius," I shout to the door that was just shut on me.

"You know you love it." Was what Sirius called out after. I shout in anger and bang the door with my hand, to some surprise some provoked energy was released. The door pushed open suddenly, it was Remus.

"Can we not shout in the house please, even though James' parentals are no longer vacant, doesn't mean its a free pass to scream to everyone." Remus sat on my bed, laying down.

"Don't get too comfortable Lupin, you are forbidden to sleep in the same room as me along as we are in the Potter Manor, remember? And my screeching was very necessary thankyou very much." I laugh through my speech roughly. I Planting myself as the end of the bed, near where Remus' legs were rested. I rub his thigh in an act of comfort, not for him but me. With everything going on, it just has my head spinning, how am I going to cope with the child on the loose (Sirius Black) running a muck around everywhere. I roll my eyes to my own thoughts.

"Something the matter?" Remus sits up. He can weirdly always tell when I'm not on my 'A Game', but to me the whole situation was irrelevant, what was Remus going to do about it, beat Sirius' face up like Severus', no I don't think so. He has already tried talking to Black, instead, it was another piece of information to provoke me with. I just know nothing would've made Sirius happier than knowing, I feel vulnerable with what he was doing, how I have to run to Remus because I'm incapable to take matters into my own hands.

"Oh, its nothing." I tried to smile, I only wanted a good time here, I wanted no conflict between any of the group. But I needed oh so dearly to get to the bottom of Sirius' joy of making me unhappy.

I shut my eyes temporarily, trying to get myself In a better place. I'm sure Sirius would eventually get bored, but with the lack of desperate women on his tail, he'd be looking for anything, he would be famished from the lack of attention, he wouldn't be getting anything from anyone at the Potter manor, but me. Just to think about it. He wouldn't dare even touch Lily, but me... my lack of self-control would actively be a good looking topic in his mind, and after that night with the whisky and stupid children's games, I'm an even better looking. I would never give in to such a disgusting person though...

Smaller footsteps come closer to the door, I could only assume it would be Lily.

"Hey! What did James say about you and Remus, you guys cant sleep in the same room," Lily said, pointing at us, her tone almost seemed although she was mocking the rule Potter set out.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah we know Evans, we aren't SLEEPING in the same room, I was just coming in to check in... to say hello, I wouldn't dare break one of James rules." Remus laughed, lifting himself from the bed. "Well, goodnight Lily," Lupin smiles. Walking over to me, kissing my cheek, and leaving the room completely.

"Wow thanks, Lily," I mumble, also getting off of the bed, moving towards my pillow, setting it upright, just to find something to do. I fold over one of the corners of the bedsheets, readying it to devour my presence. I walk over to the window, distracting myself as Lily got undressed and be put into her night outfit.

I am dwarfed, standing in the massive arches of the window frame. I watch. I watch as the next layer of sleet lays on the already semi-melted slow, engulfing the unexposed grass. I'm temporarily soothed by the ambience of the outside. It's interrupted.

"Y/N, can you stop standing so close to the window, it's making me chilly just looking at you, please, at least just hop into bed next to me, in your own." Turning, I see Lily finishing her sentence, I'm almost startled at the fact my silence was broken, by nonsense. I tremble, I cradle my arms on each other, realising the temperature.
