(April is playing this lo-fi track in her room.)
[a few minutes later]
Name: Cassandra Myles
Occupation: Self-Employed
Height: 5'9
Body Shape: Triangle
Arm length: Average
Skin Color: Brown
Preferred Color schemes: Neutral/ Nude
Occasion/s: 01. Daily wear 02. Party wear 03. Formal wear 04. Resort wear
Additional notes: I really like floral prints and vintage colors. I prefer mid length styles for frocks and would like sleeveless. I also like light shades of pink and jade specially on trousers. I also need a clutch preference for a velvet design.
I tapped my fingers on my desk in rhythm to the soft beats wafting through the room, as I studied the orders from clients in the YSL Personal Shopping site.
Getting paid for shopping for others. How absurdly cool does that sound? That's exactly the job of a personal shopper. You shop, they pay. Clients drop their orders via the PS site or visit me personally and list out their desired style. I obviously prefer the physical presence of the client where I can get a true picture of the final result like I did earlier with Danielle but who am I to complain? I scrolled through Cassandra's form mentally picking out outfits in my head.
Wonder if she has long legs? Dang it....she likes mid-length styles. There goes that jumpsuit. Hence the conversation in my head.
Body shape, triangle. I pull a catalogue towards me to confirm the presence of an outfit dancing in my head. To be honest, choosing YSL as my normal employment spot was a no-brainer. Maybe its my French roots but I still remember the way I used to always drop by the YSL store in LA after school for a few moments of window shopping. The slender dummies styled with eye catching outfits used to inspire me and remind me of French style. It was soothing, yes, to be reminded that I have links to a stylish land. "Charmante", my mother used to say when we see YSL TV adverts. Skip a few years, I'm giving tips on how to pull off a YSL wear.
Some dreams don't even need to be wished upon.
My eyes stop at random places in the catalogue while I skim through it. Finally I come across the gorgeous shift I had in my head. Grabbing my notepad, I jot down the serial number and turn back to my laptop to resume looking at the order.
Due Date of Delivery: 11|25|2020
Oh. She's not in a hurry. I've got at least two weeks for the choices. Yet I made sure that it didn't change what I was doing because procrastination, in financial terms, is like a credit card. It's all fun till you get the bill.
*bing*
Startling me, I received a notification on my planner.
7.30am-Appointment
Another appointment already. Great.
Although the store was not yet open, personal shopper clients are allowed to arrive between 6am to 10.30pm for consultations. I have a hunch about having a string of clients for me today because of Penelope so the notification felt like an alarm to prepare myself. After a rough glance at the form, I tag it under 'To-do list' in my onscreen planner and close the lid of the laptop. I was placing the catalogue back in place when-
"Yes, sir....this way.....April?"
*knock* *knock*
I looked up startled at Vanessa's voice and the knocks. "Yes, Vanessa? Come in"
