I was getting ready for Oliver's welcome home party when my phone rang. I grabbed it off my bathroom counter and answered it.

"Hello?" I called out as I put the phone on speaker.

"Hi there." Tommy called back.

"I'm kind of busy, T. Can this wait like 5 minutes?" I asked while I pulled on my skirt.

"I just wanted to see if you were coming tonight. But it seems like you're super busy." Tommy joked.

I sarcastically laughed at him as I pulled a roller out of my hair.

"Yes, I'm coming tonight, you ass. Can you come pick me up? My car's still in the shop." I said sourly.

"What's the magic word?" Tommy taunted.

"Come pick me up now or I'll kill you in your sleep?" I inquired mockingly.

"Be there in 10." he replied with a gulp.

I chuckled and hung up the phone with a subtle thank you. I finished taking the rollers out of my hair and brushed it out. I pulled on a button down white shirt and a grey sweater on top of it.

Damn, is this really what my entire closet consists of?

I pulled on some black heels and hurriedly put on some lipgloss. I'm not much of a makeup person and I wasn't about to change that for Tommy, Oliver or the ménage of people that would be at this party.

Once I finally finished, Tommy's perfectly timed text told me he was outside. I rushed out of my apartment and grabbed my purse as I did. I made my way down to Tommy's car and climbed into the passenger seat.

"Hey, loser." I exclaimed as I pulled on the seatbelt.

"You can't talk to me like that in my car." Tommy jokingly pouted.

"Oh, yeah? You going to put me out?" I taunt as he pulled away from the curb.

"Who knows? I might leave you in a random alley." Tommy said with a shrug.

I walked out of the bathroom and music was loud. I could literally feel the bass thumping in my feet. I spotted Tommy in the middle of the crowd toasting to something with about 5 different women.

Classic fucking Tommy. Always chasing women.

My eyes scanned across the room and then I saw Oliver. He was walking down the stairs and he looked amazing. He kept checking his phone, which I thought was weird, but I let it slip my mind. Tommy signaled for the DJ to cut off the music as he met Oliver on the stairs.

"Everybody, hey!" Tommy shouted.

The whole club quieted down as I silently made my way to the front of the crowd.

"Man of the hour!" Tommy exclaimed while he patted Oliver on the back.

The crowd began to cheer, I along with them, as everyone once again fell silent.

"And ladies, please give this man a proper homecoming." Tommy playfully pleaded.

I shook my head and smiled as Oliver and Tommy made their way through the crowd to where I was. Oliver stood on some sort of platform in the middle of the floor as he silenced the room again.
