Wow, am I always this nervous? It's not like I haven't been on a date before.

But this date is different. This is Tommy, my best friend. The father of my unborn child.

Wait, that sounds really weird. Me, Ava Wilson, the woman has slept with 2 people, is having a baby. This type of stuff doesn't happen to chicks who've slept with more people than the congregation of her church.

Wait, that sounds like I'm slut shaming. I promise, I don't care about how many people a woman has slept with. I just don't think it's fair that I'm the one who ended up like this.

I was careful. I did everything I was supposed to. Now, I'm pregnant and I'll get fat in about two months.

Am I fat now? If I am, this dress is doing a really great job at hiding it.

*Ding*

Oh, fuck. Tommy's outside. Okay, one more brush. Tighten the straps on my heels. Check my teeth for lipstick.

Grab my jacket off the hook. Rush out the door. Carefully run out the building and to Tommy's car. Walk to the passenger seat door and open it.

"Don't you dare!" Tommy exclaims.

He runs over and opens the door for me. I thank him and climb in as he closes the door. He runs over to the driver side door and climbs in.

"Oh, I had to get pregnant for you to open a door for me?" I joke.

"No, smart ass. You had to let me take you out for me to open a door for you." Tommy replies with a smirk.

"So, what movie are we going to see?" I ask.

"Breaking Dawn Part 2." he states as he pulls away from the curb.

"Tommy, you hate Twilight." I say.

"But you love it. And this night is about you. So, even if I die a little on the inside, we're watching Breaking Dawn. Is that okay with you, princess?" Tommy queries.

"Already with the pet names, Merlyn?" I fire back.

"Oh, I haven't even begun yet, munchkins." he jokes with a playful wink.

I giggle and shake my head in silly disdain.

God, I feel like I'm 17 again.

———

"Nessie? You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster?!" Bella exclaims on the screen.

I chuckle as I pop a piece of popcorn into my mouth. I turn to Tommy and he quickly tries to advert his attention back to the movie. I smirk to myself before leaning my head over onto Tommy's seat.

"Got room for one more over there?" I ask.

"For you? Always." Tommy replies.

He moves his popcorn bucket out of his lap and smiles at me. I playfully roll my eyes before climbing over into his seat.

I settle down on his lap and he rubbed my back. I turn my attention back to the movie and not even five minutes later, I went stiff.

"Thomas Merlyn. That better be your arm against my back." I quietly exclaim.

"I'm sorry. I can't help it. You're really pretty." he whispers back.

"You don't have to flatter me, T. I'm already out on a date with you. You can stop trying now." I state.

"Wow, you really don't know how dating works, do you?" Tommy inquires.

"It's not my fault! I'm not the open up easy type. I tend to stick to what I know. So no. I don't know how dating works." I whisper uncomfortably.

"I think it's adorable, Ava." Tommy says as he kisses my cheek.

I give him a small smile before turning back to the movie. After a while, I begin to drift to sleep. By the time I wake up, the movie ending credits were on the screen and Tommy was asleep as well.

I softly tap his shoulder and he jolts awake. He settles into his seat once he realizes it's me and he gives me a huge smile.

"The movie's over. We have to go now." I whisper.

He nods and takes my hand as he stands up out of his seat.

———

We were giggling as we walked back into my apartment building. I pull my keys out of my pocket as we approach my front door. I turn to Tommy and he's smiling at me.

"I had a great time with you tonight, T." I say.

"I had a good time with you, too." Tommy replies.

He walks closer to me and my back brushes against my door. Tommy bent down so that his lips are almost touching mine.

"Can I kiss you?" he whispers.

I nod and he brings his hand up to my cheek. I look up at him and he smiles back so me. I can feel his warm breath as it brushes against my lips. He connects his lips with mine for an innocent kiss. Almost instantly, the kiss turned wilder.

Tommy's hands move to my waist and he softly squeezes it. His tongue brushes across my lips as they part, allowing him deeper access into my mouth.

I run my fingers through his hair as he presses me further up against the door. Tommy's kiss is like napalm skies. Beautiful and breathtaking. Yet, it is also dangerous, if taken too far.

For example, right now, I have the deepest urge to ask Tommy to stay the night. Now, everyone, even me, knows that you don't stay the night after the first date. Pregnant with his child or not, that's not first date ethic. But right now, I don't care. As he moves his lips to my neck, I whimper softly.

"Do you want to stay over?" I question.

"Yes. But it's our first date. That would go against all the rules of dating." Tommy states as our eyes meet once more.

"I would argue that we've already went against all the rules of dating." I reply, pointing to my stomach.

He chuckles before placing his hand on the door.

"You're right. So, are you going to open the door or are we camping out in the hallway?" he asks with a confident smirk.

"You don't have to ask twice." I joke.

I begin fumbling with my keys and once I finally manage to get the door open, I rush inside. Tommy comes in behind me, locking the door behind him. He rushes over to me, scooping me up bridal style as he did. I laugh as he leads me into my room.

"You're going to be trouble, Tommy Merlyn." I state.

"Of course I will. You should expect nothing less." Tommy whispers.

A/N : Hey lovelies! I just want y'all to be prepared for what about to happen in the next two chapters. I won't spoil the entire plot of them but they're very depressing. Please proceed with caution.
