So, Lorelai, who's the boy you tagged in your picture?" Bryce teases, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

I feel my cheeks flush as I stumble over my words, "Uh... did someone get a crush?"

Bryce chuckles, "Stop it!"

Entering the room, I sense all eyes on me. "I know what you guys are thinking. Chris is a boy we met at the beach yesterday, and he took some pictures of us," I explain before making my way to my room.

As I settle onto my bed, Jaden enters with a solemn expression. "Hey, Lorelai, I need to tell you something," he begins, his voice carrying a weight.

Curious, I inquire, "What's up?"

"I need to travel to Las Vegas on Saturday," he says, his tone tinged with sadness.

Surprised, I respond, "What? Will I ever see you again?"

"Of course, bestie. It's just for a month or two," he reassures me, though I detect a hint of tears in his eyes.

"Okay, I'm gonna miss you so much," I say, feeling a lump form in my throat.

"Me too. I promise to FaceTime you every day," he vows before enveloping me in a warm hug.

The next morning, I'm greeted by Bryce opening the curtains. "Morning, Princess," he announces cheerfully.

Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I inquire about the time. "What's the clock?"

"Your school starts in two hours," he replies with a smile.

"Okay," I respond before heading to the bathroom.

After freshening up and changing into my favorite outfit, I decide to take Jughead for a walk before school. "I'm going for a walk with Jughead," I inform the others.

Thirty minutes before school starts, Bryce checks if I'm ready, and we make our way to the car. Arriving at school, I notice curious glances from my classmates. Sensing my unease, Bryce offers some words of encouragement.

"Hey, Princess, you're so strong, and I'm so proud of you. You can do this," he assures me.

"Thanks, Dad. I'll try my best," I reply, feeling grateful for his support.

Stepping out of the car, I spot Chris and offer a friendly greeting. "Chris, hey," I say with a smile.

He walks over, returning the smile. "Hey, Lorelai. I think we must go to the same class," he remarks.

"That's nice. Can you show me the classroom?" I request, appreciating his friendly demeanor.

"Of course, let's go," he says, leading the way.

As we enter the classroom, the teacher notices our arrival. "So, as you guys may have noticed, we have a new student, Lorelai Hall. Would you like to introduce yourself?" she prompts.

"Sure. Um, I'm Lorelai, I'm 12, and I'm originally from Pennsylvania," I announce, trying to sound confident.

The teacher then opens the floor for questions, and a girl raises her hand. "What was the reason you moved here?" she inquires.

"Well, I got adopted," I reply, hoping my answer satisfies her curiosity.

Chris's Perspective

During the lunch break, I notice Lorelai sitting all alone.

"Hey, boys, I'm gonna sit with Lorelai. Anybody wanna join?" I invite, hoping to offer her some company.

"Of course, bro," Andrew responds, with Payton nodding in agreement.

"Hey, Lorelai, can we sit here?" I ask as we approach her.

Back to Lorelai's Perspective

As I look up, I see Chris and two other boys from my class approaching.

"Of course," I answer with a smile, grateful for their companionship.

"So, Lorelai, wanna hang out after school?" Chris asks, his eyes bright with enthusiasm.

"Yeah, I'd love to. At my place?" I suggest.

"Okay, see you later," Chris replies before returning to his seat.

Time Skip to After School

As I emerge from the school building, I spot Bryce and Jaden waiting in the car.

"Chris is coming with us today," I announce as I stow my bag and head off to find Chris.

Time Skip to When We Arrive at Sway House

"Wanna do a TikTok?" I suggest as we step inside.

"Of course," Chris responds eagerly.

"You dance?" Chris inquires as we catch our breath.

"Sometimes," I admit, feeling a bit self-conscious.

"Should we try to make a choreography together?" Chris suggests.

"Yeah, that's a good idea. I know a place we can practice," I agree.

"Great," Chris says, his excitement palpable.

"Dad, me and Chris are going to the dance studio," I inform Bryce before heading out with Chris.

Time Skip to When We've Trained for Like 2 Hours

Suddenly, Charli and some other boys appear, watching us with interest.

"Hi, Charli," I greet her with a smile.

"Hey, E. This is Zack, Nick and Chase," she introduces her friends.

"Hi, guys. Do you wanna see the dance?" I offer, feeling a surge of adrenaline.

"Yeah, it seemed pretty nice," one of the boys remarks.

"Okay, then," I say, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

"Wow, normally I dance hip-hop, but this is so good," another boy comments.

"Thanks," I reply, feeling a sense of pride.

"Well, we need to go now. Bye, guys," Chris announces as we exit the studio.

Time Skip to Saturday

The day has arrived. Jaden and I spent the whole night crying together, perhaps keeping some of the other boys awake. At 2:00 am, we made mac and cheese and watched "Five Feet Apart" in the living room.
