It's been 29 days since Jaden left, and I miss him like hell.
My three best friends have been over almost every day, just chilling. I've had two smaller anxiety attacks after the one at school.
Today, I get woken up by Quinton.
"Hey Elle, I have some news that I know is gonna make you happy."
"What is it?"
"The movie wasn't as hard to get made as they all thought, so Jaden lands in LA in 2 days."
"OMG, what!" I say as I run out of bed and downstairs, screaming, "He's coming home in 2 days!"
After that, I change into my outfit of the day.
Chris kissed me yesterday. Isn't it crazy? We're not dating or anything, but he just kissed me. Of course, I told Jaden as the first, and he cried and said, "OMG! I'm so happy for you, Bestie. You're growing so fast."
Time skip to dinner
As we eat dinner, there's a knock on the door.
"I'll get it," I say.
As I open, I see Payton standing in the rain, soaked and with tear-stained cheeks.
"Hey Payton, what are you doing here?" I ask.
"Can I stay here tonight? My parents are arguing, like really arguing," Payton says.
"Of course, come in."
"Thank you so much, Elle."
"Payton, my man, what are you doing here?" Bryce says as he gives him one of those bro hugs.
"Family problems. Can I stay here tonight?"
"Of course, you can borrow Jaden's room. Sit down and get some food."
"Thanks, boys, and Elle."
"You can stay over whenever you want, Payton," Anthony says.
"Yeah, our door is always open," Josh says.
"Thanks, I'm so grateful."
"I'm tired, I'm gonna go get ready for bed," I say as I head to my room.
I change into my pajamas and call Jaden on Facetime.
JH: Hey bestie, how's it going?
LL: Really good, I have something to tell you.
JH: What is it?
LL: While eating dinner, Payton just knocked on the door, and now he's staying in your room for the night.
JH: What? Do you like him?
LL: Maybe a little? He's very hot. I don't know, Jaden?
JH: Oh well, can I say hi to Payton?
LL: Yeah.
As I look up, I see Payton at my door, smirking. He's leaning against the doorframe.
"You did not just hear that, did you?" I ask.
"All of it," Payton says, laughing.
"Fuck my life."
"Well, now you can say hi to Payton," I say.
I stand up and give Payton the phone. Payton goes out of my room and closes the door.
JH: So, Payton, do you like her too?
PM: I don't know, she's really hot and sweet.
JH: You need to make a move, bro.
PM: I know, it's just hard. What will the boys say to me dating her?
JH: Just do it, bro.
PM: I'm gonna do it when you are home again, bro.
JH: Okay, good luck.
PM: Bye.
"I just wanted to say goodnight and thank you so much for this."
"You're welcome, Payton."
"Can I have a hug?"
"Of course," I say and get up from the bed.
I hug him tight; he smells really good.
"See you tomorrow."
"Goodnight."
Skip like 1.5 hours
I've just scrolled on TikTok for almost 2 hours; I can't really sleep.
The boys come running up the stairs and barge into my room.
"OMG, you guys, I could've been naked," I say, emerging from my bed.
"Well, you weren't, so..."
"Why are you guys in here?" I ask.
"I don't know, we were bored, I guess."
I see Payton at the door; he looks really tired as he rubs his eyes.
"Why all that nonsense?" he asks.
"Sorry, Payton. I don't know what they're even doing in here," I say.
Payton is in a pair of grey sweats.
Damn...
"Okay then, I'm just gonna go sleep again," he says and turns around.
"Goodnight," I say, and he winks at me.
"What was that?" Bryce asks.
"That was the CEO of friends," I answer and turn around in my bed.
Time skip to the next day
Today is Saturday; I just woke up and changed into my clothes.
Tomorrow, Jaden comes home, and I can't wait!
"Wake up, sleepyhead," I say as I jump on Jaden's bed with Payton sleeping in it.
"Jeez, what's the clock?" Payton asks.
"I don't know, but I'm happy today, so we are waking up now."
"Five minutes."
"Nope, I only stop jumping on the bed when you wake up."
"What if you break it?"
"Then it's not my fault."
"Fine, I'm up. Now please get down from the bed," Payton says, and I jump down.
I take some clothes from Jaden's closet and throw them at Payton.
"We are going out today," I say.
"Where are we going?"
"First, we are going to the mall, and then we are going to the beach," I say.
Jaden calls me while I'm brushing my teeth.
We both squeal and talk in excited voices about him coming home. At one point, he asks to speak to Payton privately.
"Chris has sent you a message," Payton says, entering my room.
