Sam and Evie get to the cabin and are immediately greeted with Sam getting pushed to the ground and doused in holy water making Evie jump in surprise.

"What the-- I'm not a demon." Sam says. Dean pours Borax over him. "Or a leviathan. What--" Dean grabs Sam's arm and uses a knife to cut it.

"Or a shifter. Good." Dean says. He gets up and goes over to Evie and pours holy water over her head.

"Whoa, whoa, hey." Sam quickly gets up and blocks Evie from Dean who was about to pour Borax on her.

"Why are you protecting her?" Dean asks.

"She's a kid, Dean." Sam says.

"So?" Dean asks.

"Jeez, gentle. I'll do it." Sam says, taking the Borax from his brother. He pours it over Evie's arm. Dean has the knife and slices Evie's other arm making her cry out in pain.

"Dude, I said gentle." Sam reprimands, rubbing his daughter's back.

"Not a demon, leviathan, or shifter. My turn." Dean says. "Come on, let's go." Dean says, holding the holy water and Borax out to Sam.

"I don't need to. I know it's you." Sam says.

"Damn it, Sammy!" Dean exclaims. He splashes himself with holy water and Borax before holding the knife out to Sam who just finished wrapping Evie's arm with a rag he had in his pocket.

"No. Dean, can I just say hello?" Sam asks. Dean rolls up his sleeve and cuts his own arm.

"All right." Dean says, smiling while wrapping the cut up. "Well... let's do this."

"I don't know whether to give you a hug or take a shower." Sam says.

"Come here." Dean laughs and the brothers hug.

"Dude. You're... freaking alive." Sam says as they break apart. Dean turns to Evie and she grins, holding her arms out. He picks her up and hugs her and she hugs him back, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I mean, what the hell happened?" Sam asks his brother as Evie kisses Dean on the cheek.

"Well, I guess standing to close to exploding Dick sends your ass straight to Purgatory." Dean says.

"You were in Purgatory? For the whole year?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, time flies when you're running for your life." Dean says.

"Well, how'd you get out?" Sam asks.

"I guess whoever built that box didn't want me in there any more than I did." Dean says.

"What does that mean?" Sam asks.

"I'm here, okay?" Dean says.

"What about Cas? Was he there?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, Cas didn't make it." Dean says, facing away from Sam.

"What exactly does that mean?" Sam asks.

"Something happened to him down there. Things got pretty hairy towards the end, and he... just let go." Dean says.
