The three Winchesters return to the bunker after going to the store. They find Lucifer sitting on the stairs leading to the library and Chuck standing in front of him.

"Hey, how's it goin' in here?" Sam asks as they walk down the stairs.

"Listen, I know I've been for awhile." Chuck says as the three get to the main floor, putting the bags on the table. "I've missed a few... million birthdays--"

"Yeah, and the second your apes send a distress flare, boom. Daddy's home." Lucifer says.

"That's not what happened." Chuck says.

"Hey, these apes saved your ass." Dean says.

Lucifer glares at him and snaps his fingers. The three flinch, Evie letting out a quiet whimper out of fear, cowering into her dad who wraps his arms around her, but the three quickly realize nothing actually happened.

"He can't hurt you." Chuck assures them.

"Oh, so you're controlling me now?" Lucifer asks.

"it's just a safeguard." Chuck tells him.

"Hey, guys? Chuck? Lucifer... uh, Dean... think we can try and focus here? You know, end of the world, common enemy, all that?" Sam asks.

Enemy of my enemy is my friend." Lucifer states, standing up and walking closer to Chuck. "Team Amara. Go Amara."

"You don't mean that." Chuck says.

"You're really not gonna say it." Lucifer says.

"He's not gonna say what?" Sam asks.

"Screw you." Lucifer tells Chuck before looking at the other three. "Screw all of you." He storms out.

"Kids, huh?" Chuck asks before leaving.

"I think the parent might be the problem." Evie mumbles.

It's the next day and the three Winchesters are sitting on one side of the counter with Chuck makes pancakes.

"Talk to him." Sam tells Chuck.

"Won't do any good." Chuck says.

"Why not?" Sam asks.

"Because I can't give him what he wants." Chuck says.

"And what's that?" Dean asks.

"What everyone wants. My sister, my children, you humans -- an apology. A big, wet "I'm sorry."" Chuck says.

"Well, so give it to him. It's not like he's askin' for a weapon, or for Hell, or for Heaven. He's asking for words." Dean says.

"I can't say I'm sorry if I'm not." Chuck says, putting plates of pancakes in front of each of them. "What he wants an apology for, I did it for humanity. For the world."

"Okay, well, I would always apologize to Uncle Dean for eating his pie. I never meant it. I was hungry. I regretted nothing. I still regret nothing." Evie says.
