The Karasuno volleyball team was tired. The fifth set drew on just like the last four, both sides were exhausted and it was a little miracle they were still able to play. As Hinata went to serve, the tension was thick enough to cut with a knife and Michi was chewing on his lip.
He kept looking back and forth between Tsukishima and Ushijima, silently hoping no more damage would be done to the blocker’s fingers.
Bang!
Everyone stopped, looking over at the teen who staggered onto the court. He was covered head to toe in dirt and grime that made it look like he had climbed out of a ditch. His clothes were ripped and had blood spotting the fabric. His pink hair was matted and sweat covered his forehead.
“Huh? What’s this?” Tendou spun his head around to look at the teen. Guards were surrounding him, fully prepared to drag the teen off the premises. As one went to grab his shoulder the teen reached out and bit him.
“What?! Ah, fuck!” The guard stumbled back, the teen going mad, swiping his fingers out rabidly while snapping his jaw open and close at anyone who tried to come near.
More guards came in, ordering the teams to back away from the teen who was advancing further.
“What a pain,” Tendou grumbled before smirking. “He’s pretty scary, huh, Wakatoshi?”
“He is just getting in the way of the match.”
Tendou let out a loud laugh, stretching backwards to look at the man.
“Take a break while you can,” Ukai ordered when his team came over. The team was more than glad to have a rest, collapsing to the ground in a heap of black and orange.
“Who do you think he is?” Noya brought out a water bottle, sitting a little too close to Asahi to be considered normal.
“Probably just a crazy. He most likely doesn’t even know where he is.” Ukai kept sending nervous looks to the commotion; this wasn't normal.
“He looks familiar,” Tsukishima muttered, wracking his brain for where or how he knows the teen. He swore the hair was familiar; he just didn't know where it was from.
“Think he has something to do with Michi?” Yamaguchi knew the answer but he also knew Tsukishima wasn't going to like it.
The seemingly innocent question caused Tsukishima to growl. “Don’t say that!” Yamaguchi jumped back but he didn’t seem to regret his comment. Tsukishima grumbled something under his breath that the rest couldn’t hear before he searched the crowd for the boy they were talking about.
Michi was gone.
The teen swiped out his arm. A guard dodged under the attack, grabbing onto the teen's wrist and pulling him down. He pinned a foot on the teen's head, stopping him from attacking anyone else.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief as the teen was dragged from the building.
"Hey? Are you alright mate?"
One of the guards was crouched down, blood was escaping his ankle, the on-sight doctor doing his best to patch it up. The guard looked awful, sweat poured from his brow and his body shook.
"What's wrong?" The other guard leaned down, pressing a gentle hand on the sick man's shoulder. In a second, the guard was pinned down and the sick-man was ripping out his throat.
If it hadn’t been for Hinata’s quick reactions, he would have found himself pinned under the sick-man who had discarded the limp body.
Hinata let out a scream as the sick-man grabbed his ankle. “Let go of me!” Hinata thrashed about, kicking the sick-man in the face. That was a bad choice as the guard bit into Hinata’s leg.
“Get off him!” Kageyama threw the guard off Hinata's foot into the nearest wall. Thankfully he fell unconscious as Kageyama rushed over to Hinata. He tentatively placed his fingers around the wound, it painfully clear that Hinata needed to go to a hospital.
“I’m fine. We should finish this match.” Hinata tried to stand up but screamed in pain and fell forward. Instantly, Kageyama catch Hinata, sighing from Hinata’s stubbornness
“You are going to hospital.” Kageyama picked up Hinata, the smaller yelping as he blushed like a maniac.
“Kageyama! Put me down!”
“No.”
Hinata turned in his bed. Sweat poured off his forehead, waking up little Natsu who had refused to leave her brother’s side. “Nii-chan?”
The last thing Natsu saw was her brother. And she couldn’t decide whether that was a blessing or a curse.
“Hinata!”
