“Hello, my name is Yamamuro Saya. I have been reporting the recent crisis in the Miyagi prefecture. Today… something happened no one could have predicted. I am standing at the great wall that surrounds the area. This incredible structure was built overnight and there is no way in or out. Armed guards stand atop the mountain of metal, all ready to shoot down anyone who tries to escape.”

Yamamuro turned away from the wall, looking into the camera with hopeless eyes. “It is only a matter of time before Kovdre-12 escapes the hospitals. It is on the streets. It moves fast and doesn't discriminate on who you are, how old you are, or what you wanted in the future. There is no hope for a cure. This is it. This is the end of the Miyagi prefecture.”

The camera switched off, leaving the house in silence. No one was willing to say anything. Was there anything to say? ‘Welcome to the end of the world,’ maybe even ‘enjoy the remaining half-hour of your life.’ In all truth, there was only one thing you could say and no one was willing to say it.

‘Goodbye.’

Ringing stole Daichi’s attention. Panicking flaring up when he saw who was calling him. He didn’t waste a second before answering and calling out to Sugawara. “Suga? Did you hear? About the wall?”

“D-Daichi?” Daichi felt that clawing anxiety killing him. Sugawara was crying and running. Something was definitely wrong.

“Suga? What’s going on? Where are you?”

“I-I don’t know. I just couldn’t stay there. D-Daichi, my dad has it. He got Kovdre-12. I think mum does too. I don’t know what to do!”

Daichi felt his heart splitting. Hinata was painful enough. He wasn’t going to watch Sugawara go through the same thing. He couldn’t. “A-Are you hurt?”

“N-no. I got out before he was able to hurt me.”

“Have you called the police?”

“What police?” Sugawara let out a bitter laugh. “Any police that was left ran before the wall got put in place. The ones still here are as crazy as my parents are about to be. We’re on our own.”

Daichi could feel his family watching him. They weren’t going to let him out and if by some miracle he snuck passed them, they weren’t going to let him back in. Ever since the first case, his family had stockpiled food. Enough to give them at least a couple of years before they would have to leave. They weren’t going to risk it.

Walking to his room, Daichi made his choice. “Meet me at the gym. We’ll go from there.”

“What?! No! Daichi, you are not risking your life for me! What about your family?!”

Daichi felt the lump in his throat as he grabbed a notepad and pen. “You are my family. You are my life Suga. My first and only love and I would rather die in your arms than live knowing I left you alone.”

“Daichi… Please, be safe.”

“I promise I will. I love you Suga.”

“I love you too, Daichi.”

The second Daichi hung up the phone Sugawara ran towards the gym. The whole school was abandoned. Not many people were going to bother going to school at the end of the world.

Sugawara let his mind wander, thinking over everything that had happened. Was this really the end? It wasn't like they were dead yet. Has the world really given up on them? Why did it have to happen to them- no! Sugawara refused to let himself think like that. This wasn't a fate anyone deserved and thinking like that only invited pain on others. That is not what he wanted.

Sugawara sighed, pulling out his phone and looking at the lock screen. A picture from his and Daichi's first date. Daichi had his forehead pressed against Sugawara's, fireworks colouring the sky and making the scene the most beautiful thing in the world. Tanaka had taken the picture, he had followed them and snuck around for the whole day, looking for blackmail. Sugawara smiled at the memory of Daichi scolding them for doing that before deleting the pictures, sending the good ones to himself first though.

Sugawara would do anything to be back then.

"Suga!" The second Daichi was in the gym, Sugawara was hugging him and sobbing into his shoulder. He shook in the strong arms, thanking every deity there was for giving him Daichi that day. "Hey, it's okay. It's okay." Daichi ran his hand through Sugawara's hair, smiling as he kissed his boyfriend's forehead. “I promise you, I am never leaving your side again. I am not losing you.”

"Will you stop acting like a married couple when the world is ending," Tsukishima grumbled harshly, a smirk present on his lips as Yamaguchi and Yachi awed.

"What are you all doing here? You should go home," Daichi ordered, folding his arms over strictly.

"Not a chance," Nishinoya shouted, jumping up and down. "I would rather die with you guys than put up with my family for another day."

"While I agree, I'm sure they're not that bad, Yuu," Asahi whispered, hugging Noya from behind.

"Yeah, I think I would starve if I stayed at home," Tanaka stated with slight horror.

"Are you all sure about this? You might never see your family again." Daichi knew the answer. He knew it from the second Hinata got infected.

"Well, my family hasn't actually let me back in since Shoyo was taken so this makes no difference to me," Kageyama stated coldly.

"Ouch! Your family is mean," Tanaka shouted. "But that's okay, cause now, we are one big family!"

"Yeah!" Noya and Tanaka pulled everyone into a tight hug. They laughed at Tsukishima's obvious distaste and relaxed from the homely aura. This was their family. And nothing could drag them apart. Even though the world is falling apart, and though they may not all be here and may not end together. This was their family, their home and their life. And they wouldn't change it for anything... well, maybe a cure.
