Tony had gone through hell the rest of the week between Carlisle noticing his eating wasn't great and half of the staff making sure he wasn't going to topple over as they had no extra staffing members - Tony was tired. There was also the small fact that the Cullens had dropped by for social calls every now and then throughout the week starting with Carlisle and Esme.
So when Alice Cullen bounced into his classroom after teaching Emmett's class, he was a touch wary. The adorable girl stopped before his desk and extended a piece of paper to him.
"We're giving Bella a birthday party tonight and thought to invite you, give her some 'normal' company. Wear the suit that matches the sapphire tie and buy her the book on the left," Alice smiled.
"A touch more warning would be nice. Does Bella know her teacher is going to be there?" Tony raised a brow and listened to Emmett laugh down the hall.
"Of course!"
"Did she agree because she's socially awkward?"
"Come on T- Mr King! It'll be fun, I'll get Bella to tell you herself then!" With that, Alice bounded out of the room seemingly set that Tony would come.
"I haven't worn that suit since Markus gifted it to me when I turned twenty-one," Tony sighed as his next class filled in with a stunned Bella walking in second-to-last.
Tony took a chance to glance at the paper, a time, place and dress code were scrawled in perfect handwriting.
Focusing back to the class on meaningful cinematography to purposeful camera dynamics went quickly as Tony forgot about his conversation while teaching. He only pulled his scab once this class too which was a win as he generally went too far out on explaining and pointing out aspects of a scene due to his artistic nature.
Tony caught himself not three minutes till the bell and let the class pack up and leave early. Unsurprisingly Bella waited at his desk until most of the students cleared out.
"How are you, Bella? I believe a quiet happy birthday is in order," Tony smiled.
"So Alice did get to you," Bella sighed, "Did she invite you?"
"Yes, but what's your take?"
"Huh?" Bella looked bashful and confused.
"Did you want me to come? It is your party after all and I don't particularly know you as an adult."
"As an adult?"
"I know Charlie well, but my events happened when you were in Arizona. I was in the town when you were a kid too, though I can't say I knew you well at all. Knew Jacob better, babysat the kid for Billy."
Bella looked stunned, her jaw slackened for a moment.
"I'll catch you up over a coffee someday," Tony smiled.
