Chapter 2- bitches gonna bitch

I walk down the dock until I get to sunny's. Sunny is a summer time get together that I unfortunately work at. We serve mostly lunch food, smoothies, frozen yogurt, and other stuff.

I unlock the side door and turn on the lights. I lean my blue surf board against the wall. going to the front where the counter is and unlocking the metal fencing. As soon as I pull the key out the gate slides up, opening to the public. I turn around and start getting things ready. After I'm done doing that I go out and get the outdoor tables ready.

The beach starts to get some people setting up and a few people start walking down the dock.

"Good morning Miss. Jade." Gage says and he smacks me upside the head.

"Morning Gage." I chuckle.

He slides over the counter and lands on his feet. "Any customers yet?"

"Nah." I shake my head as I spray down a table.

"Good. Come here." he instructs.

I walk over and stand across from him.

"Tonight there's going to be a Bonfire and honestly there's going to be more than a hundred people there... you should come." he tells me.

"I already am."

"I knew you were." he mutters and I smile.

I go back to work and finish doing what I have to do. By then Vicky, Tay, and Jesse are here working their shift.

"Hey Jayden." someone says from the dock.

I look up to see Monica. This girl has jet black hair that's braided down her back, blue fake nails, dark brown eyes that you can barely see since her eyes are like slits.

"What do you want?" I ask as I squeeze the cloth In my hand.

"I just want to challenge you to a surf off." She tells me as she examines her nails.

"What's the catch?" I ask.

"If you fall I get your board and if I fall you get my board." she says.

"I don't know." I say slowly. This seems to easy. Shes always up to something.

"Aww is someone scared?" She mockingly pouts.

"Jade she's a easy win just do it." Gage says and I turn to him.

"Cover me."

He nods and I walk to the back before grabbing my board and leaving. Monica and I walk side by side to the beach. A crowd has gathered and their all watching us. I strip dow. To my bathing suit and put my hair up In a Ponytail. Someone puts on the radio and turns it up really loud as I wade out.

Monica rushes up to me and walks a feet away from me. I get on my board and start to paddle out. The waves are fast and furious today. I feel as if I'm on a boat.

We get out to even water and I sit up. I put my hands in the water and glance at Monica who's staring at me.

"Ready to lose?" She smirks.

"Yep." is all I say.

I look up at the sky and breath slowly. My adrenaline blocks out the world, making it seem like it's just me, the waves, and the bitch beside me. My fingers start tingling and I snap my head down and drop to my stomach to catch the wave.

"Oh no you don't!" Monica screams at me.

I stand up and balance myself on the board as she does the same next to me. She leans over but I already know what she's doing. I lean to the left like she's doing, failing her attempt to cut me off. As she does so her board slips out from underneath her and she falls into the water with a gasp. I ride to shallow water and grab my board before wading in. People stare at me quietly as I walk through the crowd that's gathered.
