Chapter 4- beachy days

Long boarding with a surfboard under your arm isnt as easy as it seems. Im actually surprised amber and I havent fallen yet. I mean it would be quite funny if one of us did, but it would hurt at the same time.

I hop off my long board and jog down the board walk down to the beach. The boys sit in their beach chairs talking and tanning. I come up behind Harry and lean over him.

"Hey there." I say and he jumps and scrambles to a sitting up position. I laugh and come around to the front of the chair.

"Dont ever do that again." Harry says as he clenches his chest.

"Sorry I just couldnt resist." I laugh.

He shakes his head, fighting back a smile. I look up to the ocean and smile at how high the waves are today.

"Have you guys gotten in the water?" I ask them.

"Nah its super cold and the current is strong so its not really safe." Zayn says and I strip down to my bathing suit.

They watch me do so and Amber runs up to me panting.

"Monica is coming!" she tells me and I snap my head up.

Monica has her board under arm and a smirk on her face as she watches me.

"Whats her deal?" Liam asks but I dont answer.

I know exactly what shes up to and its not going to happen. I grab my board and sprint toward the water just as she starts. We both get to the water at the same time and I get on my board before paddling.

"Jade! Its not safe!" Harry yells at me but I keep going.

I get to calmer water and I sit up on my board before putting my hands in the water.

"This time I will win." Monica tells me and I shake my head at her.

My fingers twitch and I start paddling toward the beach where the boys and Amber stand lookign disstressed.

I stand up and look over at Monica whos paddling. She stands up and makes a sharp turn right toward me. Instead of cutting me off she jumps on me making me fall off my board. I close my eyes and the cold water hits me. The current is strong so when I push Monica away from me I have a hard time getting above water. I break the surface and gasp but immeditaley get smacked in the face by another wave.

I open my eyes under water and look around frantically for my board. I see it floating above water and I swim up toward it. I struggle with getting on top of it. My body is shaking as I gasp for air.

"Help!"

I look over to see Monica going under the water again. Why me?!

"Jade! Dont do it!" Amber screams and I shake my head before jumping back in.

I try to keep my head above water as I swim toward Monica but I keep getting hit in the face by the waves. When I get to her I grab her hand and pull her along. I get to my board and I shove her onto it. I pull it along while trying to breath. I get to shallow water and Niall and Harry meet me there.

Niall takes Monica as Harry grabs my arm and pulls me up so im standing up. I cough up water and sprawl out on the sand.

"Are you okay, love?" Harry asks me as he gets on his knees next to me.

"Im fine." I say weakly.

"That bitch almost killed both of you!" Amber screeches.

"But she didnt." I say as I sit up.

Monica wipes her face and stands up. "Why did you save me? I could have done it myself!"

"You ungrateful bitch!" Amber screams and Zayn grabs Ambers arm and pulls her away.
