Chapter 1 - The Selection

"Have you heard the news?"

"What news?"

"Gosh! You didn't know about it. They are going to pick a new member of the ELITES. They are picking someone from the common class."

"They are picking someone to be a new member of the Elites!? And from the common class!? Gosh, are you sure?"

"Yes, the news spread all over the school."

"That's incredible! The Elites are in their senior year, so that means...."

"That means we have a chance! It's our last year as well."

"I can't believe it. By the way, why they are recruiting another student?"

"I heard that the Elites have only nine students as of now. There is a rumor that the no. 8 student left the country to transferred in another school, some said that she's going to marry a prince while the others said that she's going to manage their business in a young age."

"Gosh I haven't taken a good glimpse of her, but she's already gone."

"Yeah you are right. They said that she looked like a goddess. Don't worry, if I will be the chosen one as their new classmate I'm going to take pictures of them and send it to you right away."

"Don't think so highly of yourself there must be criteria to be an ELITE."

"Well my family owns five restaurants already. I guess I'm suited to be the new member of the Elites."

"But I heard those Elites are geniuses and they own hundreds of successful businesses all over the world, and they are all from prominent families as well. How can we compete with that?"

"Yah! I suddenly loss my confidence because of that."

"Me too, nobody from the common class can be richer and influential like them. The school might probably choose someone based on their academic skills."

"So it's either Jennie or Nancy. "

"Yah' Jennie is the number one in our class but I guess they will choose Nancy. She is the second best, but she's more active than Kim. She knows how to socialize as well unlike Jennie who is quite reserved."

"You are right she..." The girl is still speaking when a pretty brunette with chubby cheeks suddenly cut her off.

"Hey you two! It's just the first week of school and you two are already gossiping!" The girl anxiously said.

"Calm down Nayeon. We are just talking about the Elites." The girl answered.

"It's still inappropriate. How can you be an Elite if you behave like this?" Nayeon sternly said.

"Fine. Sorry, Miss secretary." The two girls said sarcastically together.

Nayeon ignored the way they said the words and turned her back on them. The girls rolled their eyes on her but a certain feline-eye girl noticed their actions. The feline-eye girl looks at them with her cold stare and the two girls suddenly looks away and gulped.

"Gosh she's very scary." The two girls mumbled.

"Jennie what are you looking at?" Nayeon asked.

"Nothing." Jennie said and walked towards her chair and sit down. Nayeon sit on the chair beside her and looks intently at the feline-eye girl.

"What if they pick you?" Nayeon asked seriously.

"Not a chance." Jennie said without looking at the girl. She got a book in her bag and start reading it.

"You are the best in class and the president of the student council as well, you have the highest chance to be the new member." Nayeon said eagerly.
