"Why are you selling the ranch?" I said to my father as I set down a plate of eggs and bacon in front of him.
"May, you know I have to. I have no choice." He said with his mouth full.
" Just say no to them!" I yelled as I sat down in front of him.
"May, it's not that easy." He said taking a gulp of milk.
"How is it not easy?" I said
"We just don't have the money to keep the ranch," He said looking up at me, " besides, they are giving me three hundred for the land.
I glared at him with an angry look while he continued to eat.
"I wish mom was still here, if she was here, you'd be working harder to try and save the ranch." I said knowing I'd trigger something.
"May... Don't give me that. Your mom..." He said before I interrupted him.
"Just don't dad." I said and left him eating at the table.

Startled by the dream, I woke up in cold sweat.
A thin cloth was made into a tent, hardly keeping the scorching sun away. The only thing that I remembered was when I got stabbed and blacked out after killing Tommy.
"Finally awake. I was getting worried." John said as he opened the flap of tent.
"How long was I out?" I asked
" Two days." He said. He came closer which allowed me to see the dark circles under his eyes.
"Two days?!" I said
"Yep. Had trouble along the way. Before I left the cabin, I found some thread and needle, so I stitched you up. And I gathered some water and food. After leaving the cabin the Indians that we escaped from was hot on our trail but I managed to outrun them without them seeing us. " He said smiling a little.
"Is our horses okay?" I asked
Before he could answer, a weird noise came from outside the tent.
He helped me up as I struggled to stand. The wound in my leg has not healed yet, but surprised that he had stitched it up good.
With the sun blinding me, I looked around and found the transportation. Two camels were standing a few feet in front of me.
"And how did you manage to get them?" I asked taking a step back away from the beasts.
"Well, I found them in the desert roamin' around." John said wiping the sweat from his face with a thin rag.
"Okay, well, you need to get some sleep. I'll keep a look out." I said
"You sure?" He asked
"Positive. Now go." I said
"Tell me if you see any kind of danger." He said as he disappeared into the tent.
