Sandstorm

The next day, John and I gathered the tent, food, and water and headed out to home. Unfortunately, we didn't know which way home was, so we just headed in the direction that felt right to us.

"Think we'll find home?" John asked as the camels trudged on.

"Nope." I said unhopeful.

"Well, Ms. Hopeless have some faith," He said smiling a little

"John, we are in the middle of nowhere! Indians are trying to kill us and we are running out of food and water! We are not going to make it if we don't find a town!" I said losing my mind.

"May, I'm sorry. I just get nervous when I'm close to dying." He said

"I'm sorry for snappin' at you." I said.

"Don't have to say sorry, I understand." He said and we left the conversation as something weird appeared in front of us.

A sandstorm like a rolling beast of mineral and rock was coming from behind us in a high speed.

"Run!" John said and we turned back around, the camels breaking into a run.

The sandstorm was a few mintues behind us, but soon it will become seconds. Either the sandstorm was really fast or the camels were really slow.

"John! We'll never make it!" I yelled over the roaring of the sandstorm.

"Your right. Stop and get the tent sheet out! Quickly!" He shouted and I barely heard what he said, but I understood some words.

The camel slowed and I jumped off quickly and headed toward the pack that was strapped to the camel.

John grabbed the tent from me and pulled me toward the ground with the tent over our heads just before the powerful storm hit us.

The sand hit my eyes, the sheet barely protecting me. The roaring winds knocked John over a few feet past me

I screamed his name, but I doubt that he could hear me over the noise.

The dust surrounded him, causing him to be blocked by my view. I stood on my two feet but was knocked down.

I couldn't tell which direction I should go to find John, but I ran at a random direction. It felt like mintues have passed since I lost John.

I barely could search for him, since the sand found its way into my eyes once I've uncovered them.

After a few seconds, a strong  force knocked me to the ground, other than the force that the sandstorm is creating. I noticed it was John as he put the sheet over the two of us.
