John supported me until we landed on the porch, where he sat me on a rusty chair that surprisingly remained stable.
" Stay here, I'm going to look for water. If you see anything, call out. Okay?" John said
" Okay. Be careful" I said to him
We stared into each others eyes for a few seconds, then he disappeared into the cabin, quietly pulling the door shut.
The cool air blew on my face as the sun began to set. Fifteen mintues have passed since John has entered the cabin. During the fifteen minutes, no sound of movement have been made.
"John?" I called out while getting up, swaying a little but stood my ground.
No answer
"John?" I called out again but no sound came.
Having no other choice, I opened the creaky door and stepped into the cabin.
The cabin appeared dead inside. Furniture, glass, wood covered the floor. The smell made me gag. Animal skin was covering the furniture. It appeared as if no one stepped a foot into the cabin for years. Everything was covered in dust.
"John?" I called out, hoping he'd show a sign that he was okay.
He didn't answer, but a low sound came from a room that was just a few feet in front of me.
"John?" I whispered growing terrified of what may lie inside the room.
I grabbed the knife from my back pocket and slowly and quietly peaked inside the room.
The room was empty.
No furniture was strewn across the floor. Just a wooden floor.
I stepped inside the vacant room.
Before I could turn around, someone knocked me out with a piece of wood.
