Nothing.

The whole room was empty, apart from a few bookcases that lined the walls.

"There's... nothing in here." Emily was shocked, if not a little disappointed. The room had a metal door. Emily's thoughts broke through the silence. Her mind focussed on the guy from earlier who had stopped her had seemed so panicked when he saw her moving towards the room. Why would these people be so panicky over an empty room?

"You weren't going to believe me if I told you it was empty. Your curiosity would have gotten the best of you. You had to see for yourself." Mathias shrugged, his hands back in his trouser pockets as he watched Emily survey the room.

"What is this room even used for?" Emily asked, taking a few steps into the room, her heels clicking on the concrete.

"It's just an empty room, storage if you like. If we have something that we don't have room for, it comes in here." It was only now that Emily had noticed in the far right hand corner a couch, one spring poking through the left half, beside that was a floor lamp with no lampshade. She couldn't help but think it looked more like a shitty library. One book case to the very far left of the room had all but one shelf tilted, hanging off or completely missing; books scattering the shelves and the floor. "You can use it if you like." That had taken Emily by surprise. She hadn't been given the freedom in this building yet and here Mathias was, giving her complete freedom in a room that she considered private; she couldn't see any cameras.

"Are you kidding?"

"I realise that you haven't had much freedom here, and all the other rooms are used by everyone else. Should you want some privacy, you can have it here." Emily was completely speechless. As much as she knew that people would be keeping an eye on her whilst in this room, she would at least have a little privacy. Maybe this would give her the time she would need to be able to call Tyler and talk to him about what was happening.

"Thank you." Was all Emily managed to say before taking a few steps forwards, looking around the cold concrete walls and the very small amount of furniture.

"Only thing I ask is that you do not replace the furniture in this room. It has... sentimental value to me." Emily considered it a strange request, however if she was being given her own privacy she would take what she could get.

She walked over to the book shelf in the corner of the room, picking up a few random books from the floor and began to attempt to put them back onto the one still standing shelf. She peeked over at Mathias, his body language changed. His posture had straightened significantly. His shoulders had squared off and even from the distance in which Emily was standing, she could see his jaw tighten.

One lone book stood in the centre of the shelf, the only book with no dust collecting on its binding. She made a mental note to look more into it later when she was alone. "I think it's time we head back upstairs, get you that food you were thinking about." Emily nodded, walking back upstairs towards the kitchen.

"Emily?" Felix's accent met her ears just as the pair had arrived back on the other side of the steel door.

"Felix?" Emily called out, the blonde hair of her friend peeking around the corner.

"I was wondering if you would like to grab some lunch, I realised you probably haven't eaten all day." Emily bit the inside of her lip. She had wanted lunch so very badly and her stomach making whale noises confirmed that; she just didn't want Mathias to think something was up.

"I think that would be a wonderful idea," Mathias spoke with a smile, his hands back deep in his pockets. "I have some things to attend to this afternoon, and it would give you a chance to get out of here for a little bit. I realise you must be bored sitting around here all day." Emily smiled and nodded, a small thank you leaving her lips and she made her way towards Felix, walking off down the halls and out towards the parking garage.
