Mark stood there just staring at Emily with his mouth slightly agape.
"Excuse me?" He thought, just for a moment, that he hadn't heard her properly.
"I said I want you to send me in." Emily had only just noticed the footsteps behind her coming up the stairs and pushing through the door way. She turned to look behind her briefly, seeing Tyler, Ethan, and Jack all standing behind her. Her and Mark shouting at each other had clearly gathered their attention.
"Are you out of your mind? Wade went in and we lost contact with him and he had all the tools we could provide, you have bare minimum shooting experience and you want me to just send you in?"
"He's my brother, Mark. I can't just stand by and do nothing, I want to help."
"She's right Mark." Tyler's deep voice had come from behind her, surprisingly backing her up. "They know every single one of us, Emily is the only option we have here. She'll be new, she won't be known to any of them." Tyler had a point that Emily hadn't even thought of. She was so preoccupied with trying to find her brother alive that she hadn't even thought about the benefits of her proposition.
"You can do what you did with Wade. Build me a back story, one that sounds believable, one that's not going to get me found out. You can put me in as a weapons dealer or a hacker or something? Anything to get me in there."
Mark just stared at the girl in disbelief. Yesterday, she had just been someone they had bought in for intelligence and nothing more. She had even had to be trained in how to shoot a gun but now here she was sacrificing her freedom and quite possibly her life just to find her brother; it was kind of admirable.
"How long will it take?" Mark turned his gaze to Kathryn after a brief spell of silence, shocking everyone in the room.
"You can't seriously-"
"How long?" Mark interrupted Kathryn before she could finish her sentence.
The brunette looked briefly towards Emily before looking back to Mark.
"I can have it done by tomorrow afternoon if I work through the night."
"Do it." Mark nodded at the brunette before she turned and left the room."Ethan, help Kathryn, the sooner we get this done the sooner we can get everything sorted with getting Emily in there." Ethan nodded at his boss before darting out of the room after Kathryn. "Jack, how's Bob doing?"
"I mean, he's stable but I don't know for how long. He lost a lot of blood." Jack's Irish accent floated through the air, making Mark sigh deeply.
"Okay, keep an eye on him, you let us know as soon as he wakes up. Until then I'm going to need you to help with weapons, can you do that?"
The Irishman nodded and slowly retreated from the room, heading downstairs to what Emily assumed was the armoury."Tyler," Mark's voice was back to it's stern yet calm ways. "I need her trained up in every weapon we have, and I want her trained how to fight, they're never going to believe that she's ready to work for them." Tyler looked towards Emily briefly before looking back towards his leader; nodding and taking a hold of Emily's wrist and pulling her from the room.
He wanted to protest but he couldn't, not with what was going on right now. He could see the determination in her eyes and knew that there was nothing that was going to stop her; he might as well help where he could.
Emily followed Tyler silently throughout the house, leading down into another room of the ground floor that she had yet to go into.
The room was pure white, bright fluorescent lights flooded the room and reflected off not only the white walls but the mirrors that lined every wall. Had it not have been for the wrestling ring that stood in the middle, Emily would have sworn it looked like a dance studio.
"This isn't going to be easy." Tyler wandered over to one of the tall silver lockers that stood tall on the left hand side of the room, pulling open the creaking metal door and pulled out some wrist wraps, tossing them towards Emily.
"I don't care, Wade needs me I'm willing to do what it takes." Tyler shook his head and reached into the locker once more to grab another set of wraps for himself.
Tyler, still wearing his pyjama shirt that he had thrown on ready to get into bed, pulled it over his head leaving him just in a loose pair of black shorts.
Emily held her breath as she stared at the naked torso of the man in front of her. He was toned, not enough for him to be ripped but there was definite definition of his muscles. Tyler had had an air of attraction about him, one that Emily couldn't have denied, yet the way he had treated her when she had first arrived had pushed away any attraction she had felt towards him. However, now that she was standing mere feet away from him shirtless, she couldn't help but bite the inside of her lip and try not to check him out, although she made sure to have a quick glance whilst he was turned away from her.
Tyler silently walked over to her, his wrists strapped up, grabbing Emily's wraps and began to fix them around her small wrists.
"Why are you so determined to help him? We all would do anything to get him back but this risks your life, you were only supposed to be intel and then you were free to go. You're getting yourself deep into something I don't think you completely understand."
"I understand." Emily averted her gaze from the slight V line definition up to Tyler's bright blue eyes, ones that had once been so cold towards her but now were swimming with concern. "He's my brother Tyler. When I was little he was always there for me, no matter how much trouble it would get him in, he was always the one that would take a bullet for me if need be. I was always seen as the weak one, the one that Wade always had to protect; now it's my turn to protect him." Emily shrugged and looked down at her wrists. The straps were slightly too tight even around her small wrists but she assumed it was necessary.
Silence hung in the air between the two, following Tyler into the large wrestling ring that sat in the middle of the room. Tyler effortlessly climbed onto the apron and rolled himself under the bottom rope, standing and doing stretches.
Emily hesitantly walked towards the ring, pulling herself up onto the apron with little difficulty, climbing between the middle and bottom rope before following in Tyler's footsteps.
"How much fighting training have you done before?" He asked, pulling one arm across his chest before repeating with the other side.
"Not a lot, but I've seen a lot of wrestling on tv."
Tyler had to hold back a belly laugh as he looked down at the small frame of the woman in front of him.
Sure he and Mark had wrestled back in high school but that was against men, men who were a lot bigger and lot more athletic than the petite woman.
He wanted to turn around and tell her what a stupid idea this all was, how dangerous it was going to be for her. She wouldn't have the back up of any of the group in there with her, once she was in she was in; there was no going back. However, she had this look about her; one that showed she wasn't one to give up easily.
"Okay, don't expect me to go easy on you though. You want to train that's fine but you have to take it no matter what; they won't go easy on you."
Emily nodded and put her hands up in front of her face. She knew she wasn't going to be decent by any means but her determination was hopefully going to be enough to get her through all of this. She had to. For Wade.
