A Shot In The Dark ~ A Tyler Scheid AU ~

Prologue

The cold hard metal of a gun was pressed against the back of Emily's head, the metal pushing her head to face the ground.

She wondered how she'd managed to get herself into this situation, she'd had her normal job and her normal life and then He showed up. He took her away from everything she knew and now here she was, tied to a chair in the middle of a cold room with a pistol placed on the back of her head.

She should never have moved out of Ohio, but she needed to find her brother, and now she'll die without even having found out what had happened to him.

"You know," A voice spoke up from the back of the room. There was something manic yet calm about how he spoke. Fear coursed through Emily, just the sound of his voice was enough to set her on edge. "I valued your brother more than anyone else in this room," The gun on the back of Emily's head shifted a little but pushed even harder "But then you had to come and break up the system." A disappointed sigh rattled from the other side of the room, followed by heavy footsteps as the man made his way closer to her. "Look at me." His voice was calm, sincere even, but Emily didn't open her eyes, she didn't want to look at what was staring back at her. "I said, look at me!" He yelled, Emily was visibly shaken by his outburst and it took all of her energy and strength to pull open her eyelids and stare directly into the blue eyes that were in front of her. "There we go," He smiled at her, his voice returning back to normal "You rocked the boat here, Emily. You came to undo everything I've worked towards and for that, you need to be punished."

The sound of shuffling feet approached Emily from behind, the person that lay in front of her only confirmed her worst fears.
