This just about ballet fyi.
So I woke up this morning and saw that my mom had texted me a link. She had found the link to the registration for ABT (American Ballet Theatre) summer intensives! ABT is a the part of SAB (School of American Ballet) that is for summer programs. SAB is my dream dance school so of course I was way excited. Normaly, I would have to go to New York to audition and I would live in New York for the duration of the intensive but this year they are all online so auditioning is actualy something I can do now! My dad said that he would support me going to New York if Covid wasn't a thing but I don't think I would support me going in the middle of school and what-not. Anyway, I'm now registered for an audition on the 29th for ABT which is so sureal and amazing even if I flop horribly and don't get in.
I knew that I needed a backup plan incase I didn't get in (very big chance of that) so I asked one of my upperclassmen ballet friends about other places I could audition at and she gave me a couple links. Saddly, the ones she gave me are already filled up because it is already pretty late in the audition season but I looked at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (another very popular and important ballet school)'s website and I'm pretty sure they still have spots open! I do need to submit a couple pictures that will lower my self esteem including a headshot but I think I could be able to audition. The audition fee is pretty high though and I can't ask my parents now because I'm supposed to be asleep and they are on a call with some friends. But I'm definetly going to ask tomorrow and pray they say yes.
I am going to have to work almost nonstop to get good enough to stand a chance at getting in and my dance subliminals are now my soundtrack to everything I do but I'm just happy I get this experience. The ABT audition will also be my first realy audition ever so, I need all the help/luck/prayers I can get.Update: My parents said no to Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre because of expensese so my only hope is getting into ABT
