Lily POV~
I froze at what she wrote me.  Shooters? Around town? Not just.. school shooters?  I was sitting next to Pony on the couch practically shaking.  No one noticed, sort of.

"There's shooters in town?" I ask, not realizing I asked it out loud.

"Eh, sort of." Pony explained, which is what made me realize I asked that out loud. "They don't go running out in town shooting people though.  Actually, they said the school shooting was their worst idea ever.  So they find people at night."

So that's why Miss Cynthia didn't want us out.  Nobody cared that there were gangs.  But I didn't think about that too much.  I was focusing on the fact that there are shooters, I mean, I knew but I didn't know.  But I am safe.  Yeah, I am, maybe.  Am I? Yeah, sure.  I don't know, hopefully.

"How don't they get caught?" I ask.

"They're sneaky." He told me.

"But a gunshot is loud.  How don't the police know?"

He shrugged.  "No ones awake."

"Then we can stop the shooters!"

He put his book down and turned to me. "I'm sorry, did you say... we? As in both of us?"

"Yeah."

He grinned. "No, you mean YOU can stop the shooters.  I'm not leaving.  Darry will get mad if I leave late at night."

"Then just come to your room where I sleep say that we wanna just talk and stuff and when everyone's asleep that's our que to leave!" I whisper for only him and I to hear since Two-Bit, Johnny and Dally were here.

"You're crazy."

"Pony come on!"

"Socs are out late at night."

I froze. "You telling me that the shooters are.. Socs?"

He froze. "Alright, we're getting somewhere.  You really wanna hunt em' down?"

"At least find them."

He sighed. "If one of us die, I'm blaming you."

SCORE I CONVINCED HIM!

Selena POV~
Today was my speech day.  I get called up to go to the front of the gym.  The principal asks me how I felt with Lily being there.

"Well," I say. "I was scared.  I was, but I know she's safe and she does have a place to stay-"

"How could you be so sure? Did she call you?"

"Well I- actually," I guess I could tell them she called me. "Yes, she called me.  I don't have the number she called me on though.  So if you wanna reach out to her I'm sorry but I didn't write down the number.  But at least we know that she's safe from the shooters and let's all hope that we could see her soon."

They all nodded their heads-the crowd.

"But how do I feel, well, I am scared.  I'm worried, she told me not to worry but I am.  I don't like having a friend stuck there.  I do know who's she's staying with though and I gotta admit, he's pretty hot."

A few people laughed.

"Who's she staying with?" Someone in the crowd asked.

"Well, his name is Sodapop.  Lily and I went to a gas station to get some water and we met him.  He found out we were Canadian because of the money she handed him." I laugh at the memory.  "She didn't think this but I know he was a Greaser."

There were whispers across the room.  Yeah, people thought Greasers were bad people.

"But Greasers aren't that bad if they're keeping Lily safe right?" I ask. "As long as I know she's safe then I'm not gonna worry.  Sure, there are shooters and stuff but, she's Lily Hart she can litterally survive ANYTHING.  I know she's gonna be ok."

"She's probably crushing on some guys there too." Lydia added in the crowd.

Everyone laughed.  I laughed.  She probably is.  I know she's gonna be ok.  I know it.

Ponyboy POV~
It was late at night.  Lily and I were sticking to the plan.  I wasn't sure it was a great idea though.  Soon enough, around 12am, the hallways went quiet.

"Do you think everyone's asleep?" Lily asks quietly.

"I'll check." I open the door softely.  I see Sodapop sleeping on the couch and Darry's door is closed, plus all the lights are off.  I close the door and nod. "Their asleep."

"Alright!" Lily opened the window.

I help her to get outside, then I hop out the window and close it.  We go searching town a little bit not finding anyone so far.

"I'm freezing" Lily said. "I forgot a sweater."

"I don't have a sweater either." I say, shivering as well.  The best idea I had was to hold her, so I did.

"Thanks." She said quietly, looking at the floor.  She was kinda cute.

"You're welcome." I say quietly as well.

She held onto me tighter when we heard a gunshot.

"Ponyboy I'm scared!" She said stuffing her face in my chest. "This was a terrible idea I'm sorry"

"Hey you don't have to be sorry." I said holding her close to me. "Let's go home ok?"

She nodded.  I held her hand and started walking.

3rd person POV~
Ponyboy and Lily were halfway home when something hit the back of his head which knocked him out.

"Pony?" Lily asked.  She got on her knees and tried to wake him up. "Pony! Please wake up!"

No answer.  She turned around to see if anyone was there.  "Who's there?!" She yelled.

She tried to grab Pony to bring him home but she wasn't strong enough.

A few moments of trying, someone grabbed her and made her unconcious.

"What will we do with the horse child?" Someone asked.

"Leave him here, I didn't hit him too hard.  He should wake up soon." Someone else said. "But first, let's find a place to put this girl."

"We won't kill her, right?"

"I don't know who she is and how she acts.  If she ain't annoying she'll live."

"Ain't that what you always say?" He asked. "They always end up dead anyway."

"Exactly."

"But Fin-"

"Calm down Lola!" Fin yelled. "I'll find out her age first.  I don't wanna kill off somebody too young."

"Fine" Lola sighed. "But can I keep the horse child? He's good looking."

"Alright! Fine!" Fin yelled.
