Izuku POV

As I finished answering the questions, the hobo called for someone outside my door, and me being the clueless person I am thought nothing of it. That is, until I saw him. He was a detective well known for working with high ranked heroes to solve difficult cases, but why was he here?

I stayed quiet, then heard his deep yet soft voice speak, "Hey kid........why are you lying?", that's when it struck me, how did he know? Did he have some sort of lie detecting quirk? I continued the silence, until the hobo asked me a question in a seemingly shocked tone, "Tell me the truth.....are you really okay at home?.......just why were you that badly harmed, limping out from the woods?.....how long have you lived like this?"

I didn't want to answer. I couldn't. They'd put me in an orphanage or put me up for foster care to be used as a pet. Suddenly, I felt a warm, wet substance trail down my cheek, I reached my hand up to see what it was.....water? My eyes had shed what seemed to be a droplet of water. I was at a loss for words, when was the last time this happened? I looked up at the two seemingly frozen men in the room with socked and scared eyes, unsure of what to do. Soon enough, in a shaky voice, I asked, "What is this? Why is there water leaking from my eye?" The two men shared a glance at each other and then both moved closer to me, the tired man spoke, "Problem child, do you not know what a tear is? When was the last time you actually felt emotions on the outside?"

Aizawa POV

What has this kid gone through to be unable to understand what tears are? That's it! I need answers!

"Problem child, are your parents abusive?"

"No..."

I turn my gaze to Tsukauchi giving him a look to see if he was telling the truth.

"A half lie?" He asked confused.

"Kid, do you only have one parent?"

"I lived with my mother, my father left us- No why are you asking all of these questions!? Why are these tears things coming out of my eyes?! Who are you?!"

"That's the truth, but Aizawa, could i leave you to answer his questions for now?" The detective asked.

"Sure. The reason why we're asking these questions is to find out your backstory so that we don't mistakenly take you back to your abusive mother. Your crying because your sad about something. And my name is Shota Aizawa, or the pro hero Erasurehead, but please call me Aizawa, and this detective here is Tsukauchi Naomosa."

After introducing ourselves he seemed to calm down a little. However, I knew he needed a place to stay so I asked him, "Do you have any relatives or friends you could stay with" and of course I knew the answer, why else would he resort to living in the woods. But, through gritted teeth he so blatantly lied once again, "Yes, of course Mr Aizawa, my best friend lives a few blocks away, I could call him up and walk there by myself once I'm released from the hospital!" This angered me, "Why do you keep lying to me Izuku? We're just trying to help you out! So why?", I said almost in a whisper at the end, my pained voice reaching his ears.

"I'm sorry......." I faintly heard.

I quickly darted my head up in shock. "I'm sorry Izuku, it's just that I'm worried about your well-being and physical state right now. No need to apologise."

After saying this I decided on the best course of action. I would take Izuku to live with me and 'Zashi (present Mic) until we find him a new home. So, I called 'Zashi after leaving the room to allow the doctors to do a check up on the problem child.

"Hey Shota! Why are you calling me? Don't tell me they didn't have coffee at the store! Oh no! I'm gonna have a grumpy sleep deprived husband in the house, and to make it worse Shin shin (Shinzo) is gonna be super pissed and tired too! What am I gonna do-"

I cut him alerting him that I wanted to talk, "'Zashi, I found a problem child about the same age as Shinzo (spell check keeps correcting this, please don't hate me!) today, he was limping out of the woods dying of blood loss-" a gasp was heard on the other side of the phone, "would it be okay if he stayed with us until we find him a proper home to stay in?"

"Of course Shota! For a child like him to go through such a thing is horrifying! And you never know, maybe we'll get him to open up and show some emotion and then give him a proper home in the future!"

"Okay 'Zashi I'll see you later, I need to tell him he's staying with us for the moment and try to get him comfortable......goodnight".

Okay I'm gonna end it here, sorry for the long wait for this next chapter, updates are gonna be pretty slow at the moment bc of online school and tests coming up but I'll try and get the next chapter to come as soon as I can!
