Bilbo and [y/n] had managed, in the end, to get some food for the two of them. Seeing as the sun was shining lovely on them, they choose to make themselves a little picnic under the shadows of a big tree. ''So 'Master' Boggins,'' Bilbo turned and looked a bit confused to the girl, not sure whenever he had misheard her or not.
''If you had to choose, who'd you kiss, marry and kill from any of the dwarves?'' now [y/n] knew that it had been a bit of a weird question, but she wanted to talk about something. And back on Earth, she had done this with her friends plenty of times. They would talk about who they would do from the strangers walking past when they had gotten their drinks in town or around a train station.
''Excuse me?!'' Bilbo sounded offended and shocked at the same time. Had she really just asked that question? She couldn't be serious, could she? [Y/n] didn't think she had asked anything that was wrong, but then again she didn't know the culture of hobbits. Maybe she should have thought about it more. Either way, she could not change what she had said but luckily Rainor had come their way. Seeing the elf approach [y/n]'s eyes light up and she quickly got on her feet.
''Rainor!'' the girl might not have spent that much time with the elf but she had liked his presence nonetheless. She went over and gave him a quick hug. Rainor hadn't expected this and stood still in shock when the girl hugged him. Not that he had the change the hug back anyway for she quickly pulled back and slung an arm around his shoulders instead. She faced Bilbo with a happy face, ''Bilbo this is Rainor. Rainor, Bilbo.''
The two males looked a bit confused at each other but gave the other a polite nod anyway. ''What brings you here?'' [y/n] didn't want to be rude or anything, it was just that she thought she wouldn't see him again. She saw him as a friendly face but he probably still looked at her as a stranger. Rainor looks back at [y/n], who patiently awaits an answer, and thinks hard.
Why had he come here? He remembers walking around Rivendell enjoying his time off and he had spotted the girl and the hobbit having a peaceful lunch. But other than that he had no memory as to why he made his way over. ''I...,'' how was he supposed to tell her that. Clearing his throat he continued speaking with a newfound determination ''I just wanted to make sure that you were taking it easy on that leg of yours.''
[Y/n] looked down at her left lower limb in a slightly defeated manner. It wasn't that painful anymore but she had been advised to not walk on it, not like she was going to follow that advice. She was grateful for all the help the elves had given her so far, she just couldn't bear the thought of her having to sit still for the most part of the days.
Back on Earth it would have been no problem, she could watch shows and movies to her heart's content or even reading her books. But she wasn't on Earth, she was in Middle Earth.
And Middle Earth had so much to offer. It was calling out to her to be explored.
''As much as I can,'' she smiled brightly at the elf. Rainor wasn't satisfied with the answer, he thought she would get more injuries if she didn't take the required rest. But he had also grown to understand that the girl would do what she wanted, not caring much for the caring and advising words of others, through the conversation they carried on their way to Rivendell.
''If your leg is badly hurt you should probably be sitting down [y/n],'' Bilbo's worried voice spoke up. He had hoped that the girl was fine after her trip to the infirmary and that nothing too bad had happened.
She hadn't seemed to be limping or anything while the two of them had been looking for a place to eat. Nor was there any indication on her face that she had been in pain while moving around. But still, he could not help but worry. She was his friend, and he didn't want to lose her.
