"IS THIS THE RIGHT place?"

Five glanced back and forth between the creased paper in his hands and the large building we were in front of. "Sure looks like it."

I peeked over his shoulder to read what was printed on the piece of eggshell cardstock:

From the office of Sir Reginald Hargreeves

To my pursuers:

I, Reginald Hargreeves, request the pleasure of your company for a light supper on the 20th of November, 1963, at half past seven o'clock.

1624, Magnolia Street

Dallas, Texas

A formal invitation, I bitterly thought, how polite of him.

Five looked up from the paper at me. "Let's go inside."

The interior was massive, with multiple staircases leading to the second floor. Our footfalls against the steps were the only sound, echoing off of the high walls.

"What do you think he wants from us?" I asked.

"Who knows?" I could tell from the pensive expression on his face that he was going through every possible scenario that could play out in his head. "If he knows what's good for him though, he'll answer our questions."

"He's gone to a lot of effort to avoid us this far," I pointed out. "I doubt he would give up the goods for free now."

We were the first ones inside the elevator. The doors were about to slide closed when a hand shot out to stop them. "Wait up!"

The doors parted, and Diego stood before them. My eyes went wide. "Diego," I breathed.

He locked eyes with me, looking just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. "Hey, Lee." He looked over at Five before sidling into the elevator next to me.

"Hold it!" Allison ran into the elevator, nearly colliding with us. She skidded to a stop, blinking at us in surprise.

Klaus sauntered in, cat eye sunglasses obscuring his eyes and a flask clutched in his hand. "Hey, everyone." He got in beside Allison, leaning back against the wall like he might pass out or hurl at any moment.

Vanya flitted in after Klaus silently like a ghost. Luther was the last one in, and we all moved back against the walls to make room for him. "Excuse me," he murmured.

A pleased smirk came over Five's face. "Good. We're all here."

The doors closed shut once more.

An uncomfortable silence settled over the elevator. I was squished in the corner, shoulder to shoulder with Five and Diego on either side of me. I watched the floor numbers light up as we climbed higher to pass the time. My foot tapped against the floor impatiently.
