WHO THE HELL IS HAROLD JENKINS?
"WAKE UP, SLEEPYHEAD!" Luther shook me awake.
I groaned and blindly swatted at him, completely missing. I popped one eye open to see him hovering over me. "Good, you're awake." He turned around and walked back to the door. "I need everyone to meet me downstairs as soon as possible."
I slowly sat up to see that Diego was awake, too. Apparently, being the gentleman that he was, he had let me sleep in the bed last night and opted for the floor instead.
"Why? What is this about?" My voice was heavy with sleep.
"The world's ending in three days." With that, Luther closed the door behind him.
I looked over at Diego on the floor. "Come on," he rolled his eyes, "let's go entertain him."
We grabbed a sling for Diego's arm (as he had sprained it when he and Klaus crashed the ice cream truck yesterday) before heading downstairs. We were the last ones to arrive in the living room.
"Three days?" Allison asked while passing Luther a to go cup from a drink carrier.
"That's what Five said," he replied, leaning on the bar.
"The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it," Klaus said from his position on the floor. "He just left out the part about how soon."
Diego and I took our seats on one of the couches, and Allison walked over to us. "But can we trust him?" She handed us each a cup of coffee. "I mean, I don't know if you've noticed, but Five's a little..." She twirled her finger in the air and whistled.
Klaus laughed. "Our little psycho."
"He's not crazy," I interrupted, sipping my coffee.
"He was pretty convincing," Luther added. "If he wasn't trying to stop an apocalypse from happening, those two lunatics wouldn't be chasing him."
"That's why they were after him?" Diego asked.
I nodded. "Yeah."
"What did Five even see?" Allison settled her hands on her hips.
"Uh..." I could tell Luther was searching for the right words to use. "Apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible." He paused, and Allison, Klaus, and Diego all looked at him expectantly. "Okay, so here's the plan," he got up, avoiding our eyes, "we go through Dad's research—"
"Wait, what?" Allison cut him off, and the three siblings started to talk over one another.
"Wait a tick, wait a tick, wait a tick," Klaus silenced everyone. "What actually happened the first time around?"
"Yeah, what are you not telling us?" Diego looked up at him. "Come on, big boy, spit it out."
Luther looked down at his coffee cup. "We died," he whispered, barely audible, before taking a drink.
