My name's Eren Yeager. I'm 19 years old and I live in the year 2077, Shiganshina City, Japan. Everything around me seems foreign to those who grew up without the technology we now have today. But to me and most people my age, the surroundings are completely normal. The advanced technology around us is still just scratching the surface of what we can achieve if we try. And that's where my father comes in.
Grisha Yeager, 46 years of age. Also, most know scientist and programmer known to everyone. The company he created has been the main reason for the technological advances made to the human race. He's made significant discoveries in both science and technology, helping to create the future we live in today. Many things created by 'Yeager Foundations' used by mostly everyone in today's world are Cancer Detecting Smart Needles (CDSN), Self Driving Cars, AI-Enabled Robots, Wireless Electricity, Nanotechnology and most recently Space Tourism, along with many other things.
The company now has begun development on my dad's new project, calling it 'The Kodiak Experiment.'
'The Kodiak Experiment' is to do with the new technology my dad discovered allowing humans to be biometrically enhanced with stronger body parts. He developed his work using people who had already passed away. Using machinery to enhance the body and bring them back to life, new and improved.
As of now, my dad's company is currently preparing for the launch of the new products to be sold all throughout Japan. My dad's initial idea for the 'cyborgs' he designed was to create them and sell them to the Japanese Self-Defence Forces (JSDF), also known as the Army. But in the end, he decided he'd make a larger profit from selling to the people of Japan, and eventually the other countries of the world. My dad didn't care for anything other than making a profit for himself, and his family of course. He didn't care if he had to hurt others to get the things he wanted and neither did I. My dad taught me to be selfish in this world, or you'll be taken advantage of for showing emotion towards anything.
He wasn't always like this believe it or not. But he changed soon after my mother passed away from being caught in the middle of a robbery. I was only 8 when my mother was taken from me and my dad. She was doing the weekly food shopping when some small gang had decided to rob the place, shooting most of the civilians inside, including my mum. They were caught a few days later from another attempted robbery of another supermarket a few towns over.
From then on my father only cared about keeping me safe along with developing his work.

A few days have passed, and the release of the new Kodiak Cyborgs was about to take place. My dad had dragged me along to the launch convention taking place in Tokyo because he wanted me someday in the future to take over from him and carry on his work. I didn't really want to be the one taking over from my dad but he insisted every time I ever brought up the conversation or either shut me down straight away by saying he's 'extremely busy.'
I didn't have any interest in becoming the new face of Yeager Foundations. Mikasa on the other hand, my adopted sister, always had an interest in our dad's work ever since she joined our family at the age of 6.
Mikasa also decided to come along to the launch convention, but out of her own accords that is.
Both Mikasa and I were standing in the right-wing of the stage watching as my dad gave a presentation on the new Kodiak Cyborgs, making the crowd cheer with excitement when he offered to present one to them all first hand.
Mikasa shifted from her slightly slouched stance to being fully focused on the curtains hiding the creature. Neither of us had ever seen our dad's creation first hand and I wasn't all that interested in it either. Mikasa's however, slightly lit up at the thought of finally seeing our dad's accomplishments up close for the first time.
