Chapter 3 Dance With Me part 2

Terrell leads me toward the pairs of couples who are slow dancing in a large circle. They were so in sync I was afraid I would ruin the flow of the dance.
I felt Terrell stop and turn towards me, a small smile stretching across his lips as he gently guides my hands to wrap around the back of his neck, and I feel his large, callously hand run down my dress onto the small of my back. Instant butterflies erupt as he slowly leads me towards the circle of dancing lovers.
Instantaneously it becomes like clock work as we dance among the others.
Losing myself in the rhythm of our dance, time eludes us and  I grow faint from a mixture of both exhaustion and dehydration, but I choose not to stop in fear that if we stop dancing, it would be the last time I would be this close to him.
As if by instinct, Terrell leads us back towards my father, entertaining a company of nicely dressed seemly aristocratic businessmen.
"Terrell." I shuffle my weight onto my right hip, crossing my arms self consciously covering my chest.  All the men stopped talking and look over at me my father included. Terrell looks down at me, concern fills his eyes and his lips drop from the smirk they held.
"Can we get something to drink?" I whisper to him. He nods his head and starts to lead me away until my father intervenes.
"Surely you can get my baby girl something to drink and leave her with me." Father's voice booms loudly from beside me causing Terrell's attention to direct to him.
Terrell gives a small nod to my father, a glance to me then disappears within the crowd of people. Moments later I feel an unpleasant, inappropriate hand wandering fondly down the small of my back and onto my bottom.
I jerked my head up to meet Simon's eyes. He smiles at me and I feel a shock of panic run through my body.
If Father hadn't sent Terrell alone to get us something to drink, I wouldn't be here right now.
"Mr. Sanchez would you be bothered if I borrow your sweet daughter for just a moment?" My heartbeat increases and the room starts to darken. My father nods to Simon giving him the okay to take me away from him.
My fingers begin to tremble as I walk beside him towards the arch way. Simon takes a quick glance around us to make sure no one is watching then he firmly took hold of my forearm and yanked me into the empty hallway.
"Simon stop!" I raise my voice at him, trying to step back to place distance between us.
"I just want to talk, relax mon cheri." I shivered hearing his faint french accent call me sweetheart.
"No. Whatever was between us, no longer exists and I refuse to hear anything more from your lips-" Simon interrupted me by shoving me against the wall, pinning my arms at my sides and forcing his lips onto mine. I struggled under his weight as he pushed his hips into mine, crushing me against the wall.
Tears started flowing from my eyes as I silently sobbed into his mouth.
Terrell? Where are you?
I slowly lift my leg up and with one swift kick to the groin, Simon doubles over in pain giving me the perfect chance to escape.
I quickly shuffle through the couples back towards where my father, and now Terrell, stood. I felt my face heating up from embarrassment and I could still feel the tears on my cheeks. I take my hand and wipe the wetness from my face as I reach them.
I glance at my father then over at Terrell who wore a blank expression on his face, standing uncomfortably straight.
"Can we go home now?" I direct my voice at my father trying to sound confident and not upset.
"I've not quiet finished an agreement yet, but if you're wanting to leave I'm sure Terrell wouldn't mind escorting you back home."
I turn my head to look at Terrell, his face still expressionless. He nods at my father then reaches his arm out, offering it to me. I slid my arm into his and we walk away from Father heading towards the exit.
Once we are outside and no longer in sight, he quickly drops my arm from his and starts walking faster towards the car.
"Terrell!" I yell trying to get his attention.
He choose to ignore me and continues walking. "Terrell will you slow down? I can't keep up in heels!" I scream at his back.
Swiftly and effortlessly he turns around and swoops me off my feet carrying me bridal style towards the car.
"T? What's wrong? Did my father say something to you?" I whisper looking at his stone cold expression. He remains quiet as we reach the car. He sets me down, unlocks the door and opens it for me. I get in silently and wait for him to walk around the car to his side. Once inside, he starts the car and we ride in silence the whole way back home.
When we arrive at the house, he turns the ignition off and got out of the car making his way over to my door then opens it waiting for me to step out.
I got out and he closed and locked the door and began walking to the front door. He uses a key from his key ring and unlocks the front door opening it wide enough to let me pass through before silently walking in and closing it behind him.
"Terrell please talk to me." I try looking him in the eyes, to read his facial expression but he refuses to meet my gaze. He begins walking towards the stairs silently and I follow him. Once we reach my door he stops and looks at me.
"Good night, Grace." Terrell begins to walk to the other end of the hallway but I reach out and grab ahold of his hand. He stops walking but keeps his back turned away from me. I run my other hand over left shoulder across the nape of his neck and across the right shoulder. He shudders at my touch but stays still.
"Please. Terrell talk to me!" I exclaim, tears forming in my eyes and my throat tightens.
"Please" I beg.
Why won't he just talk to me?
He turns to face me, our hands still entwined.
" You kissed your ex." He said, his eyes stone cold.
"You saw that?" I said, swallowing hard. He remained quiet.  "After Father sent you to get me something to drink he came up to Father and I, and asked for permission to take me somewhere in private to talk." I watched as his face showed no emotion.  "He yanked me into the hallway and forced me against the wall and kissed me when I told him I wanted nothing to do with him. He had my arms pinned Terrell, what was I supposed to do?!" I feel myself get anger and my body begins to tremble.  " You must've only caught that part huh? Not the part where I kneed him hard in his manhood and ran back to you and Father?" A sigh of relief came from Terrell's mouth as he listens to me. A look of concern in his eyes as he starts staring intensely at me. I look down to where he was looking and see the bruises that were rapidly forming on my forearms from where Simon grabbed me. I look up at him and he looks angry.
I feel a single tear make its way down my cheek and drip onto my chest.
Terrell walks forward enclosing the space between us and pulls me into a tight embrace. I snuggle my face into his chest and he just holds me. I feel butterflies erupt through my stomach and tingles running up and down my spine.
"Terrell when we danced tonight, I felt the most safe and loved then I have in a long time. It meant everything to me.
I feel Terrell pull away from the embrace and my heart sinks slightly. He holds me out at arms distance looking at me.
"Grace. We can't allow anything to happen between us. Your father has made it very clear that-"
I scoff loudly interrupting him, " I don't care what my Father thinks or says, he's the one who hooked Simon and I up thinking we would be compatible and then gave me a hard time when I broke it off with Simon."
Terrell watches me intently as anger ripples through me.  " I want you, T and I don't care what anybody but you thinks about it. If you're able to protect me, then you are more than enough qualified to love me."
Terrell sighs deeply and leans down and places his warm lips softly on my forehead.
"Get some sleep, we can talk about this in the morning." I nod wrapping my arms around him to hug him, and then head inside my room to go to sleep.
