I woke up on September 1st at 5am after a night of tossing and turning. I couldn't sleep for excitement of finally getting out of this manor. I got up anyway and got washed and dressed as slowly as I could, because I wasn't leaving for the train until at least 10am. I put on the outfit I had left out last night. It was a plain black spaghetti strap dress and a plain white t shirt.

Once I had packed away the items I had needed for this morning into my trunk, I went downstairs into the drawing room to see if anyone was awake yet

Once I had packed away the items I had needed for this morning into my trunk, I went downstairs into the drawing room to see if anyone was awake yet. No one was there but Narcissa had left me a note to say that Dobby was taking me to Kings Cross station and that she would be picking me up for Christmas break. I was quite happy that it was Dobby who was taking me, but I at least thought Narcissa would want to see me off. She was finally getting rid of me, the burden.

I went into the kitchen to find Dobby making waffles for breakfast.

"Morning Miss Black. You're up very early." He said.

"I couldn't sleep I'm too excited. I see you're taking me to the station. What time are we leaving?" I asked.

"How does 10am sound miss?"

"Sounds good. Did the Malfoy's say where they were going today?" I was curious to know where they had gone so early.

"Master Malfoy didn't say where they were going, just that they wouldn't be home until dinner time."

"I'm really going to miss you Dobby."

"Don't worry miss, Dobby can always come and visit when master Malfoy isn't around." Replied Dobby.

With excitement I said. "Ohh Dobby I would love that. You can meet my new friends Fred and George."

"Master told you not to speak to the Weasley boys again miss."

"I don't care, he doesn't even like me so why does he care who I'm friends with?" I said crossing my arms.

When it was 10am Dobby and I got all my luggage together, then he apparated us to an empty alley near Kings Cross. I went round to get a trolley and we packed all my luggage onto it. Dobby got into the trolly basket and under a blanket so he wouldn't be seen by any muggles. We could have just apparated onto platform 9 3/4 but Dobby wanted me to have the experience of running through the gate on my first year.

As we were heading to the gate, we saw a few people already running through and I was just amazed at how oblivious muggles really were. How could they not see people running with trolleys full of luggage with pet owls, cats, rats, and toads, towards a wall and disappearing?

It was my turn next. I didn't realise how nervous I would get. I was standing there staring at the wall I was about to run through. Will it hurt? Will it not work because I'm so nervous? What if I do just hit it and not go through? Surely the muggles will notice that?

Here goes nothing.

We ran through to the platform and I paused to let Dobby jump out of the basket. He led the way and we turned the corner to see the train in its full glory. It was only 10:30 and the platform was already packed with families and students all saying hello to each other after not seeing one another all summer.

"Dobby where do we go?" I asked, still feeling rather nervous.

"Let's go and see where to leave your luggage miss."

We walked down to the end of the train and seen a man loading students' luggage onto a cargo carriage by levitating it.

"Just leave your trolley there please miss." He said in a very strong London accent.

I grabbed my sleek black leather backpack that I had packed some things into to keep me occupied on the long journey to Hogwarts, including some money that I had left over from my day in Diagon alley that I hadn't told the Malfoy's about.

Dobby and I headed back towards the middle of the train to find somewhere for me to sit. Dobby had to head back to the manor to start on the rest of his chores for the day so we said our goodbyes and he promised he would visit me at some point next week to see how I was getting on.

I went onto the train and sat in an empty compartment. I sat beside the window watching everyone saying goodbye to each other when all of a sudden, I heard a shy voice ask "Can I sit with you? It's my first year and I don't know anyone yet"

"Of course you can, it's my first year as well. My name is Melissa Black." I realised that I had said my last name, and I could feel my face going red hot.

"Thank you. My name is Holly Morris." she said timidly as she sat down in front of me.

"It's nice to meet you. Are you excited to be going to Hogwarts?" She didn't seem fazed by my name at all.

"I'm more nervous if I'm honest. This is all so new to me, I only just found out I'm a witch in June when Professor McGonagall came to my house. My parents were so shocked they didn't have a clue." She's muggle born, of course she doesn't know who I am. Thank Godric.

"Ohh waow, so you're a muggle born?"

"Apparently." she giggled.

I explained to her all about how some pure bloods would possibly be mean to her and call her a mudblood and what that meant "Don't worry about them though I'll be there to have your back, I promise"

"That's horrible, what does it matter about my blood?" she said shocked.

"That's how I feel about it, and I am pure blood, but the family I live with see it differently and they call me and my father blood traitors"

"Why do you live with th..." she was interrupted by two fiery red heads barging into the carriage.

"Hello there Black." Said Fred

"Long time no see Melissa." Said George

"Hey guys, how are you?" I asked

"Better now we're with you." Fred said with a wink.

"Who's this?" Asked George.

"This is my new friend Holly, Holly this is Fred and George"

"Nice to meet you, how do I tell you apart?" she asked.

The twins laughed and another boy walked into the compartment. "Alright boys who are these lovely ladies?"

"Well, well, well look who it is Fred"

"George is that the guy who couldn't write back to us all summer?" Fred sarcastically replied.

"I believe it is Fred. What do you have to say for yourself Lee Jordan?" George asked while they both crossed their arms and jokingly glared at him.

"Waow, sorry guys it was a busy summer, but seriously who are the chicks?" He asked with a smirk.

"Well you traitor this is the lovely Melissa." Said Fred as he pointed to me.

"And this is young lady is Holly." said George as he sat next to her

Fred sat down next to me as Holly and I said "Hello" in unison.

All of a sudden the train started to move and there was a frantic tapping on the window, we all turned around to see Mrs Weasley waving at us all and saying goodbye. We waved back until she couldn't run alongside the train anymore and she disappeared.
