Chapter Three Expectations

"Lauren why didnt you attend work today"The suited younger man asked

"I had a sick day okay"

"You dont sound so sick"

"I dont need to sound sick,i look like crap that should be more than enough to let your older sister slip for once"

"Well, tomorrow we have a big meeting and i dont want you scaring the investers away"

"I wont"And that was the end of it.

Our father had offered me to run the company but i never wanted that responsibility,so Ryan took over it i decided to take a lower role and have more free time.I knew my job and my limits,Ryan was always under pressure being put to succeed my dad so i was happy i didnt take that role.

"Lauren can you get the door please"

"Yeah,im actually on my way out to my apartment"

"Wont you stay for.dinner?"she said as i walked to open the door

"Not tonight mom I have to get some stuff done"

"Hi" the brown eyes said as i opened the door

"Who is it Lauren" The older oman asked from afar, but i couldnt reply i hadnt seen Camila since yesterday and i didnt plan on seeing her for a while.I really couldnt speak,and i didnt want to.

"Lauren who is it?" My mom said as she got to the door "Oh Camila come in Im happy you can make it"

"So am I" the shorter girl replied

"Lauren wont you stay Camila is here you must stay"

I was still stuck at the damn door like statue gazing into the unseen

"Lauren"

"Uhm i really cant mom"

"Stay Lauren" the brown eyed girl  said just above a whisper

"Sorry mom i have to go" i said kissing my mom on the cheek as i walked to the door again

"Wait,"Camila said grabbing my hand

"Dont touch me" i said quietly clenching my teeth as mother prepared the food

"Please,Lauren"

"Stop,Ive had enough of you, you dont mean a thing to me now you are my brothers fiance you shouldnt be touching your ex girlfriend"

"Lauren please I just-"

"You nothing just leave me alone!"

"Lauren?whats wrong"my mom said again walking to the living room

"I,uhm i just"

"She doesnt want to come to the dinner tommorrow for the wedding"Camila interjected

"Lauren you have to come its not an option,you cant let Camila and Ryan down like that"

"I wont,But i cant stay today, I must go"

Whats harder than losing the love of your life?Having the person you lost her to be your brother,your only brother who you adore too much to ever want to break him.I really wasnt ready to go to the evening dinner for the wedding and i really didnt want to.Camila and I being a secret broke me,not only because i couldnt express my love for her openly but because others could just go up to her and flirt with her not knowing it broke me.I couldnt blame my brother he didnt know about us, but Camila did she knew how i felt i loved her hard and I really didnt know how to deal with things other than to try and drink them away.
