Lalisa sulked on the couch, groaning as she stared back at the room upstairs for the umpteenth time of the day. The movie setup was ready, so was the arrangement for assortments like drinks and popcorn. But the guy, Jeon Jungkook ㅡ her enemy and currently her roommate during this quarantine had locked himself in his room, busy playing games like it was an everyday routine for him.
She saw him scurrying down the stairs at an aggressively fast pace, she was sure he would've fallen face-down on the ground had he slipped. What a lovely sight for her to see, though she somehow drove away the sadistic mindset as he settled beside her.
"This should be the fifteenth time I called you idiot; do you get paid for playing boring stuff all day?"
"Firstly, overwatch is not boring. Second, I technically am getting paid for it, since I'm a gaming streamer. And third, don't fucking ruin my mood again, remember how tough it was to get along after our argument this morning."
"Yeah, because your loud annoying ass kept disturbing my sleep."
"Don't you start again-"
"Why, you think every person likes the idea of waking up to the sound of a vacuum cleaner buzzing in your room, specifically at 7am when you should be enjoying your sleep? Thanks but no thanks." Lisa scowled.
"I did apologise to you later, didn't I? Not my problem you're a heavy sleeper though."
"Will you please-" "Fine, fine lets just start the movie already." Jungkook nonchalantly shrugged, cutting the brunette haired girl midway to avoid getting started with another argument.
The movie Lisa had picked was "The Shining." Although being someone scared of watching horror movies herself, Lisa still chose to play the film because she was well-versed with the idea that Jungkook particularly hated the horror genre that only made her more determined to make him watch.
"Uhm are we really watching this, of all movies you showed me that day?" Jungkook asked raising a brow to which Lisa just replied innocently, "I did ask you to pick one from my collection but you said any of them is fine so I decided to go with it. Why, are you scared?" "N-no, of course not, haha." He sheepishly laughed. "You would love it, yes is starting!" Lisa held onto a cushion as she excitedly focused her attention on the TV. This action of hers made Jungkook flinch a little but he smiled at the latter's childishness.
Halfway into the movie, the scenes were getting suspenseful and tense by each passing minute until finally the terrifying scenes poured in. As Lisa had watched the movie already for a few times, she was already immune to the spine-chilling moments despite the fact that the room was now completely absorbed in darkness as the lights were switched off.
During one particular scene, probably one of the most unsettling in the entire movie ㅡ Lisa glanced at Jungkook giving the most wholesome reaction she had ever gauged from him. He was profusely sweating even though the air con was turned on, looking at the screen through his fingers that covered his face.
With a devilish grin lingering on her lips, she slowly creeped towards him under the white blanket - only to reach his ear and shout "Boo!" Jungkook was terrified to the core, as he threw the popcorn bowl too high in the air, making it land on his head the very next second.
She couldn't help but clutch her stomach as she tried to stifle her laugh. "Oh my God, should've recorded this. The great egoistic asshole Mr Jeon Jungkook is nothing but a scaredy cat." She kept giggling as Jungkook deadpanned her, removing the bowl from his head and fixing himself. "Yah! I'm not, just that....my eyes were hurting its so dark."
"Yeah, sure." Lisa kept wheezing at his excuse that added more laughter to his clownery. "Stop please, ugh." He pleaded but she was nowhere near in a mood to stop. Jungkook had it enough; he grabbed her wrists and pinned her to her couch, his body hovering above hers.
"What about now, you aren't laughing anymore?" Jungkook smirked. Lisa only replied, "I want to, but not when you're practically manhandling me." "If you take your words back, I might rethink if I should let you go or not." He inched closer, his muscular figure now pressing against her small frame.
"I won't." She tittered again, somehow trying to ignore the knots forming in her stomach as an effect of the extreme proximity between them that even Jungkook was unaware of.
"You would," he continued, "you wouldn't want to stay like this all night long." "Try me, Jungkook." She knew she was messing up with him, but his cuteness only caused splutter of nervousness down her throat. At this point she wondered, were they really enemies or these emotions were leading to something else? She noticed how close Jungkook's face was next to hers, his breath fanning her face while his eyes made their way to her plump lips.
"Can I...kiss you, Lisa?" He huskily asked for consent that made Lisa's heart melt. For a moment Lisa was sure he would back off joking its all a prank for a revenge against Lisa's mischief, until she felt Jungkook's lips on hers as her eyes fluttered close and all her thoughts faded in an instant.
Obviously, this wasn't Lisa's first kiss. But the way Jungkook kissed her, his lips slowly moving against hers as if she was just as fragile as glass made this kiss superior than the past ones. His grip on her wrists loosened as he now held her head with one arm, the other caressing the back as he deepened the already passionate kiss. Her arms meanwhile found way into his hair, pulling him close. The moment felt endless, as if it were never meant to stop when-
"Ahhhhhhh!" An ear-splitting shriek from the movie caused both of them to freak out, instantly parting away from each other's embrace.
Oh right, the movie was still running.
"Fuck." The boy grunted as he stepped back, breathing heavily. Lisa placed a hand on her chest, feeling her heart rapidly beating against her chest. Her hand reached the remote lying somewhere inside the blanket, pausing the movie at its post credits scene while Jungkook switched on the warm lights in the room.
"I'm going to order pizza, you want some?"
"Oh...okay." Lisa replied as Jungkook shyly made way to his room.
Lisa needed time to comprehend what just happened just sometime ago. It was just one kiss, interrupted by an absurd yelp of some fictional character. Her cheeks were burning up, she had kissed Jeon Jungkook.
Her enemy, Jeon Jungkook.
And most important of all, was she going to forget and ignore everything, or will this kiss create new dynamics in this so called love-hate relationship?

This scene was initially a part of my quarantine romance series but I unpublished the book a while back because it was a bit cringey haha.
Anyways, comment if you want a part two for this one! :)
