As I said goodbye to my friends, who I will miss dearly, I headed down the beautiful marble floored hall towards a tall door which was decorated in ornate gold pediments. I stopped at the door which towered over me as it slowly opened, I let out a sigh.
As I was about to step out onto the castles front stairs I was stopped by no other than the academy's headmistress Madame Olympe Maxime. She was an incredibly tall witch who was half giant, she had a brown bob with a front fringe and wore a beautiful bordeaux lipstick which made her black eyes look enchanting against her olive skin, she wore a beautiful deep brown coat with a luxurious fur trim that trailed along behind her. she cleared her throat and gave me a warm smile "miss y/l/n it is such a shame to see you leave Beauxbatons, but I'm sure that Hogwarts will be lucky to have such a wonderfully talented witch like you" she declared in her thick french accent. "Thank you madame, I will miss it here but I want to finally follow in my mother's footsteps and experience Hogwarts like she did" I said with a little sadness lacing my voice.
The headmistress smiled and gave me a small nod before she strode away down the hall. I started walking down the stairs towards a carriage that would take me off the grounds and to my stepfather who is waiting for me at the outer wall that bordered the gardens. The small carriage was a powder-blue colour with gold embellishments around the windows and door, the carriage was pulled by two abraxan horses which were bred at the academy.
As the carriage was being pulled, I looked out the window to admire the gardens one last time, the hedgerows trimmed to perfection and were planted in swirling patterns moving throughout the grounds, the lawn had small mounds of flowers dotted around and there were arches made of different flowers and leaves over small paths that lead back to the castle. The whole grounds were mesmerizing and I thought to myself that I really am going to miss this place, but at the same time excited to see Hogwarts and if it is everything my mother described it as and more.
The carriage stopped and I got out and headed to my stepfather who was waiting to apparate us back home. He was a tall man with beige skin and jet black hair that was swept back, his hazel eyes were dull and lacked any emotion as he watched me walk towards him.
Since my mother died he had been very distant and always irritable, any little thing that upset him whether it was me or the poor house elf he would snap and lash out at us, sometimes it was physical and others emotional, especially towards me. He always kept reminding me that I wasn't his daughter and that I will always be a disappointment to him because of it, so I try and stay out his way and to always make him happy if I needed to, even though it never works. "Hurry up and take my arm!" he retorted. "yes sir" I whispered as I took his arm.

When I let go we was in the stairwell of our home near Arrington Cambridgeshire, although it didn't feel like a home anymore. We had a decent sized home it was a typical five bedroom house even though one of the bedrooms was made into a storage room for all of my mothers things.
The stairwell is white with black handrails that is centered in the hall and at the top of the stairs it splits in the middle to go to either side of the house.
To my left was the guest living room where we held our parties for my stepfathers work colleagues at the ministry of magic, which he held monthly as he was close friends with the minister himself. The room had a gothic type of feel to it and was very formal with two black leather couches placed opposite each other with a black glass coffee table inbetween, the fireplace was dark grey marble with small columns either side of the hearth and above the columns were intricate carvings of serpents entwined with each other in the middle of the fireplace above the hearth. The walls had nineteenth century black wooden panels lining the room, there were various artwork and portraits of famous wizards hung on the walls. The windows were arched with a lattice pattern and shadow grey curtains cascaded down the sides of them. Under the windows there is a dark grey antique sideboard with a crystal decanter set on it for my stepfathers firewhiskey. The flooring is square grey stone slabs which are enchanted to be heated so that the room isn't freezing cold. The chandelier on the ceiling in the centre of the room was black metal with candles placed in their holders.
The room to my right is the family living room even though I don't go in it anymore since my mother passed, the room is exactly the same as the guest living room but the walls are the complete opposite of the guest living room as they are a gorgeous pearl white but with the same type of nineteenth century wooden panels lining the room, it was a much more relaxing atmosphere with a light blue suede couch facing another with a clear glass coffee table in the middle of them. Next to the couches was the white and grey marble fireplace with the same columns and serpent detailing, the windows were the same but had light blue curtains matching the couch draping down the sides of them. The sideboard in this room was light almost white grey with family photos placed on the top. The flooring was light oak wooden floor panels going diagonal from corner to corner, under the coffee table and couches was a large white fluffy rug which felt like clouds when you walked on it. The chandelier on the ceiling in this room was in the exact same place at the other room but was white instead of black.
It was getting late and I was starting to get tired so I decided to head up to my bedroom, luckily for me, my stepfather had gone to his study as soon as we got to the house so I didn't need to talk to him. So I headed upstairs to go to bed.
