Janet L. Yellen was confirmed by the Senate today as the first female Treasury Secretary. The vote was 84 to 15 and the placement marks history as Janet becomes the first female to hold the top job in the treasury department in it's 232-year history.
She plays a key role in President Biden's economic movement plans. Her placement in this role means she will be able to help President Biden prepare his $1.9 trillion stimulus package, steer it through congress, and if it's approved, she will be responsible for the deployment of the money.
