I got home and checked my phone.
“WHAT R U DOING NOW (YN) WHY DIDN’T U ANSWER R U CHILLIN WITH THAT EDWARD DUDE?” it was a text from Chloe.
I texted back, “No he found me and I tried 2 get rid of him”
A moment later I got another text. I thought it was Chloe but it was not.
“Hey babe just want 2 ask when u r free 2 hang out ;)” it was Edward.
I sighed. He would not back off, would he? I decided not to text back.
The remaining holidays went by quickly, and tomorrow would be my first day of school. I was very nervous, but I managed to get some sleep.

The next day, I woke up to my alarm, not wanting to get out of bed. But when I realized that today would be the first day of school, I suddenly became wide awake. I jumped out of bed and went through my routine, throwing on some decent clothes. I wore a blue summer dress and some flats, with a cardigan on top.
I had my breakfast and went to school. The school was not that far away from home, so I walked to school. On my way, I saw a couple of people heading in the same direction, and they looked like they were going to the same school.
When I got to the school, I walked in nervously. I was the new girl here, and a couple of people did stare at me. I hanged my head low, avoiding attention.
Suddenly I heard a familiar voice called, “Oh my God, is that her?”
I could not resist but snapped my head up to confirm my suspicion. It was really Edward, staring at me near the entrance, with a gang of people, mostly girls, but of course Alan and James were there.
“(Yn)!” Edward ran towards me excitedly, and I fell a step back. Most people had their attention on me now. And the girls who were just surrounding Edward all glared at me.
“Edward,” I forced a smile at him. Today he was wearing a blue hoodie, black skinny jeans and blue hightops. Still looking good. But it did not mean that I liked him, absolutely no.
“I can’t believe it,” Edward said excitedly, “You’re going to this school too?”
“Yeah,” I said.
“This is so cool!” he said, and dragged me towards the group of people waiting for him by the door, “Hey guys, this is (Yn), I met her a few days ago, and this is so cool okay, we’re in the same school!” He told the others, not able to hold in in his excitement. Why did he like me so much? What was so special about me? And I did not even like him?
“Hi,” I smiled at them.
They all smiled at me politely, but the girls all looked as if they forced their smiles. Alan and James chuckled.
I decided not to stick around Edward; I did not want to gain enemies so soon, so I took out my timetable, “I’d better get going, in case I get lost! See you later guys.”
The girls looked happy that I did not show any affection towards Edward, and I walked away into the school building.
“Hey, wait up!” Edward chased after me, “Maybe I can show you your class?”
He looked at my timetable, and gasped, “We’re in the same year! AND OH MY GOD WE HAVE IDENTICAL TIMETABLES!”
I froze. That meant I would have to have every single class with him? Just no. How could it happen; it was something that was almost impossible!
“Come on, I’ll show you the way,” Edward grabbed my arm and dragged me along the corridor. People around all stared, and from the girls’ expression I could tell that he was a popular guy here.
“How about your friends?” I asked him, as he had left them behind.
“It’s okay, they don’t need help getting to their classes,” he laughed to himself. I could not help but found his laugh cute. I looked away, trying to clear my head. But one thing for sure was that I still did not like him.
When we got to the classroom, I thanked Edward and told him to get back to his friends, but he said it was okay, and sat down next to me. People all stared at us – or maybe just me – like I was some sort of weird animals.
Edward tried to get me talking during the whole morning and sat next to me in every class but I tried my best to ignore him. When it was finally lunch, Edward left me for a bit and said he would meet me at the cafeteria.
I walked along the corridor, following the others, and I heard some girls talking.
“Did you hear that Edward has a massive crush on (Yn)?” one girl said.
“What he has a crush? On that new girl? Oh my God my chance is ruined!” the other one said.
“Don’t worry; I also heard that she doesn’t like him! She keeps ignoring him,”
“Whoa are you serious? Edward Grimes? Ignore him? How could she! But I’m glad,”
“Well and I heard that many other boys find her charming too, because she doesn’t try to hook on Edward like most other girls do, they find her so interesting,”
“Lucky girl!”
“I know right!”
And then I blocked everyone out and just headed to the cafeteria.
I joined the line in the cafeteria, and someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Edward.
“Hey,” Edward grinned at me.
“Hi,” I replied.
We got our food and Edward made me sit at his table, which had so many other people crowding around. The others smiled at me when I sat down, including the girls. They seemed nicer now; I wondered if they changed their opinions towards me because I did not like Edward and would not threaten their chances with him?
Edward squeezed in next to me, and everyone kept asking me questions, about my life, my old school and stuff. Those girls I heard in the corridor were right; the boys seemed to be very interested in me. The girls seemed all right with it, as long as I did not show any affection.
But this particular boy attracted me. His name was Dylan, I figured out, and he had chocolate brown hair and eyes. He had his hair swept sideways, hanging above his eyes. His smile looked so cute, and he did not shoot questions at me like others did; he just smiled at me.
At last lunch period ended, and Edward brought me to our next class. When I walked in, I saw Dylan was in this class too, and my stomach basically just flipped.
I sat in front of Dylan, and Edward of course sat next to me.
I turned around to talk to Dylan, trying to include him in the conversation. He seemed like a really great guy, until the teacher came in.
The remaining day passed by with Edward by my side constantly, and finally it had come to an end.
Edward did not try to walk me home, although he looked at me hopefully outside the school gate, dropping hints to me. I pretended that I did not get the hints. Yeah he was sweet, but I just did not feel like I liked him.

Days passed by, and Edward was always next to me. Girls at school tried to get his attention, but they did not really hate me as I clearly showed that I did not like him. Boys tried to get my attention too, but I ignored them mostly, and just be polite. I tried to get close to Dylan though, and we did manage to talk and I knew that he was truly a decent guy.
I got to know Edward more, and he was a nice guy, but sometimes just too flirty. He seemed like a player, but was a good friend. I did not really like him in that way though, but he just would not give up.
Today during lunch, I managed to sit next to Dylan.
“Hey,” I smiled at him, as Edward sat on the other side of me.
“Hi (Yn),” he grinned at me.
“(Yn),” Edward said to me, “I’m going to get some chocolate, do you want some?”
I thought this would be a good time to talk to Dylan, “Sure, thanks Edward,”
When Edward was away, I grasped my chance and talked to Dylan.
“So,” I said, “Are you free today after school?”
“Yeah,” Dylan said, “Why are you asking?”
“I was wondering that if you want to see this movie,” I built up my courage and asked him.
He stared at me, and I held my breath.
“Of course,” he smiled, “So should we wait by the cinema at six?”
“Yeah!” I said, trying to hold in my excitement, “See you there then!”
Just then, Edward came back. He had no clue about what had just happened. He handed me my chocolate bar and I thanked him.
When the bell rang, I walked to our Chemistry class which Dylan would also be there with Edward cheerfully, but Edward did not suspect anything.
We had to do an experiment at class, and I was so distracted and kept on thinking about my date with Dylan. I was so absorbed that I did not realize a puddle on the floor. I stepped into it and slipped, and twisted my ankle.
I sat on the floor, whining in pain. A girl ran to tell the teacher, and he came to see what had happened.
“Oh no,” he gasped, “Class, could anyone bring her to the nurse?”
I saw Dylan was about to volunteer, but Edward was faster.
“I will, sir,” Edward came towards me, and helped me up
