Xavier
The next morning, I woke up to the enthusiastic buzzing of my phone. I reached out to my bedside table to stop the incessant noise, grunting profanities in the process.

Aaaaaah, peace.

I dropped the phone somewhere on the bed and tried continuing slumber but alas, the darn thing started off again.

Not checking the caller ID, I answered the phone with a groan.

Hey, that rhymed.

"Good afternoon to you to son, I am deeply ashamed that it's 12.30 pm and my son is still in bed. But the happiness I am feeling has overcome the feeling of disappointment." My father states.

"Oh, and what could possibly have made you so happy to the point where I miss a scolding from my father?" I question, my deep, groggy voice ringing in my ears.

"We are to have a family dinner tonight, with your new fiancè." He beames.

My face turned into a frown at the thought of my 'fiancè'.

"Dinner, tonight, I am sure you won't miss this one considering your 'perfect' new daughter-in-law will be there" The sarcasm dripping off my tone.

"Listen, son, I don't know exactly what or how much she had told you. Please stop your childish hate now. She really doesn't need it, she is the last person who needs it." He pleads.

"Dad, why are you so blinded by her, how can you not see her for who she is?" I strain.

I really wish he would open his eyes.

"Xavier, stop. Listen she-" He starts but I cut him off.

"No father, YOU listen, I don't know how that golddigging bitch has you wrapped around her tiny little finger, but I will make sure to show you her true colours. I will make her life hell in everyway I possibly can, this marriage will see to it" I rant, declining the call before he could add his input. I got this foul feeling in my stomach when I relised what I had said, I called her a bitch.

I got out of bed and head towards the bathroom. After tending to my business I head over to the kitchen, knocking on my the other bedroom door on my way.

I then fix myself a bowl of cereal, sitting on the countertop. About halfway through my bowl I had relised that dweeb hasn't come out yet. I storm into his room only to be met with, an empty room. That is when it resonated with me.

She knew him, he was with her. How did she know him, Is her reason for existence to take everyone away?

I went back to my cereal as the door opened, clearing my thoughts.

"Where were you?" I ask him trying not to sound clingy.

"Oh, hi, I....um....stayed..... at a friends? Yh I was at a friends." He clears, walking towards his room.

"Oh, and are you close to my fiancè by any chance?" I question.

"Fiancè? Oh right, Leah. Yh we go way back, she's my sister, so yh I guess we are close. No doubt she'll say otherwise." He said whilst going through his clothes.
