Dot, Shelby and Addie were the first people on the plane. Dot and Addie met at the airport in Texas before meeting up with Shelby after their first flight. The trio barely spoke to each other, but it was nice to have some company when they were travelling. Once they got on the plane and saw that they were the first made the need to know someone less important, so Shelby and Dot sat near each other whilst Addie chose a seat closer to the back.

Leah
Jeanette that was her name. I found out later and she was the only one who'd come alone. The rest of us came with someone. There was Toni and Martha, best friends from Minnesota; the three Texans Dot, Addie & Shelby; there was Rachel from New York and her sister Nora; and Fatin, of all people, from my school. But like I said, none of this sunk in until later. Not faces, not names, not the ridiculous welcome video.———✰———
The three Texans watched as the other girls came aboard the first after them was a pair who Addie assumed to be sisters sat apart the taller one not sparing Addie a glance and the other gave her a shy smile as she sat in the seat next to hers. The sisters were soon followed by a dark-haired girl clutching tightly onto a book who barely looked at any of the girls on the plane as she made her way to the very back. The next to arrive was another pair who seemed to know each other fairly well as they had been smiling and talking with each other. The one holding a pillow smiled shyly at each girl on the plane and the other in a basketball shirt gave everyone a quick glance over (and even though the blonde didn't notice she did spare a slight second glance at Addie who had smiled at both girls). The next was a girl in a purple camo jacket who strode into the plane like she owned the place but quickly sat down and started checking her complexion in the small handheld mirror in her bag.
And annoyingly enough Shelby had greeted each one of them as they entered the plane with a bright "hello" and a stunning grin.
The final girl was a small Asian girl in a small pink skirt who came in taking selfies. Shelby had, of course, greeted her as if she was the hostess and complimented the girl on her bangs only to get a compliment about her "blank forehead" which made Addie snicker at the encounter. Before the small girl awkwardly moved away from the blonde she had complimented and sat in the seat next to girl applying lip gloss.
Soon after the plane had taken off the welcome video had been played. Addie, like most of the girls, had only tuned into parts of it. But the part that irked Addie slightly was the way the woman on the video had said: "the dawn of Eve literally waits for no man." It was slightly ominous and knowing but was sugar-coated with a warm voice and a friendly smile.

Honestly, Addie would have been perfectly happy watching the Wizard of Oz on her phone the rest of the way there, but Shelby Goodkind ruined all that when she bounced up from her seat and to the front of the plane as soon as the video had ended.
