At about ten o'clock every night the lights in Addy's s room went out. But on this particular night at five past ten, her door opened. No agents were opening it only Leah.
"Leah!" Addy gasped out in a whisper as she hugged the girl.
Leah was wearing grey sweat pants, a black hoodie and grey socks whereas Addy adorned a pair of dark grey leggings and an oversized sweatshirt that she still wasn't sure if it was navy or black. But like Leah, her feet had a pair of thick dark grey socks on them.
"Come on" Leah responded after she had returned the hug.
The pair snuck out of the room in silence they hadn't made it very far when the alarm started buzzing and a red light came from the two ends of the hall.
The pair shared an alarmed look before Leah grabbed Addy's hand and the pair ran off the same way they had come. Leah flipped her hood up as she lead the blonde into the small courtyard area she had been to earlier with agent Young. They paused in the middle before Addy dragged her through one of the entranceways and found a door that they went through with Leah looking behind her in shock.
The corridor they entered was narrower than the ones in the parts of the building Addy had seen. The pair breathes heavily as they jumped down a couple of stairs before creeping along another narrow hallway. The pair could still hear the beeping of the alarm that came from where ever they had come from, but there were no flashing lights which made Addy relax slightly.
Leah led the way as she stopped to look round the corner of the pipelined corridor.
When she saw nothing she grasped Addy's hand again and started running down the long thin corridor.
The lights started to flicker but the pair kept running and only stopped when they completely went out. Once the lights turned off the pair slowed down and let go of each other's hand so they could feel the wall and where they were as they carried on walking.
None of the girls knew what the plan was outside of don't get caught. That plan almost had a hitch when the pair heard static and looked behind them to see the light of two flashlights that were making their way closer to where the girls were.
The pair shared a look as they started to move faster down the corridor but now had one hand connected and the other touching the wall. Due to neither of the people holding the flashlights saying anything to make her think differently. Addy assumed that somehow they hadn't been spotted. But they didn't want to risk it so they started to run again using the laughter of the flashlights to help them see.
When the pair got to the end of the hallway they entered a wide-open area lined with doors but no other paths leading to another corridor.
Leah and Addy shared a look as they heard footsteps and shared one thought which was 'oh, shit!' They pressed themselves up against a wall and started moving to the closest door. Leah got there first and quickly opened it letting herself and Addy in before closing it quickly.
The pair each had one ear against the door to listen to see where ever the people with the flashlights were going. Thankfully they didn't enter the room they were in.
When they heard the clatter that the girls assumed meant the people had either entered a different room or had left completely they both exhaled in relief.
"Thank god" Addy whispered in relief as Leah turned around to face the rest of the room.
Addy felt Leah nudging her causing her to turn around and look at the room as the lights turned on revealing a long room that was pretty much empty other than a desk, with some bits on, a chair and nine screens that the chair was facing.
Addy walked forward with Leah following as the pair went to inspect what was being shown on the screen.
What they saw freaked Addy out to the Max. The screens each showed different boys, surviving on an island. Addy's eyes practically grew in size as she inspected the group in the same situation that they had been in before being 'rescued'. Addy wasn't even sure that they had been rescued anymore. As time went on in this place she felt more and more trapped. But now, now she knew that something was up with this place.
Addy spotted a folder that had the retreat logo on it with 'dawn of eve' written under and next to the logo was a sticker that read 'CONTROL GROUP: THE TWILIGHT OF ADAM'.
Leah and Addy shared a look before turning their attention back to the screens. They didn't need to speak as they were obviously both thinking the same thing. Whoever these people were, they were sick. They had used the girls as some freaky experiment. An experiment where people died and were traumatised. But possibly the worst thing was there was another group out there. A group of boys. They were still going through the hell that they had been 'saved from' honestly the only thing Addy could think of worse than being where she was now was still being stuck on that island.
"What the fuck?" the pair both said as they looked at the screens with nothing else to say. The pair were horrified and confused but they got the general idea of what was happening and it was messed up.
