I had been running for a while now. It seemed like hours. Okay. Technically, I walked a large portion of it but that is not important.
I had finally gotten to a small (And when I say small, there were, like, five houses, a restaurant, and a grocery store.) town.
I walk into the restaurant and a soft ding sounds. A round lady is at the cash register, a few cases of food around her, lights flickering inside them.
"Hello?" The lady asks, voice shaky.
"Um... Hi. I was wondering if you had a map?" My voice is slightly raspy and rough from not talking for a while.
"Oh, honey, you need food first." The lady smiles. "My name is Rose. What do you want to eat?"
"Uh? Do you have Turkey sandwiches?"
"Yes, Hon. Let me go get some Turkey from the fridge." She wobbles off to the back and I am left standing in the doorway. There are a few seats at a table so I sit in one.
A minute later, Rose comes back out with a turkey sandwich. She puts the plate in front of me on the wooden table.
"Eat up. Then I will give you a map and tell you where you are."
