We walk into my mother's hospital room. I knock on the wooden door separating me from her. A few moments later, my father comes and opens the door. "Oh. It's you." He says.
"Well yes. You called me. You asked me to come. If you did not really want me to come, you should have said that. But, no, I specifically remember your voice male the right choice' all mysterious like. I have a right to see my mother." I all but shout.
"Ugh. Fine. Come in." My dad sighs. He steps out of the way after he opens the door wider.
I step into the room. It is light. White walls, light brown wood floors. There is a vase with a few tulips on the bedside table. Most likely from my father.
The room looks much like mine but with a few changes. Since Mom is here because she had too much alcohol, there is a lot more wires and cords and machines that she is hooked up to.
I feel myself start to get teary eyed. I walk over to my mother's bed and kneel beside it. "Mom, I am so sorry. I never really hated you. I was just mad. You are not a fuck up. I need you." The tears are streaming down my face. I start to get choked up. "M-Mom... I need you." I look down at the ground. This is too much for one week.
A hand finds its way to my shoulder. I look up and see Nick smiling faintly. "She is gonna get better. I can tell. She is strong." Nick smiles wider, "Just like you."
