Dream sequence
Dark blues and purples surround Josie as she stumbles to the lone banquet table.
Food is out and ready to eat.
But there are no guests.
If Josie were to turn around, she would see a stack of severed heads.
JOSIE: Hello!
The words echo around her.
A small laughter reaches Josie's ears.
JOSIE: Who's out there?!
A scratchy voice replies to the question.
VOICE: your biggest fear.
The voice forms into a body from some misty color.
A scream is heard when Josie sees the sword raised up high.
The mysterious figure swings the sword down to stab Josie in the heart.
Screams are heard from every direction.
Dream sequence over
I sit up in bed so quickly. The sweat pouring down my face. It was all so real. The strange figure about to murder me. The pain and fear.
I could've sworn I was going to die. A sudden thirst for water is there. So I get up from the bed. As I get up, my hand gets tangled in my earbuds cord. "Hmm." I say, not remembering that I went to sleep with music in my ears. "Oh well." I whisper and plug my phone into its charger.
Then, I finally make it to the top of the stairs. But I get dizzy. Leaning against the cool wall, I take a deep breath.
Recoverment over. I go down the stairs and to the kitchen. Upon seeing the fridge, I feel a sense of relief. I get a glass for the cabinet and go to the shiny refrigerator. Opening it up, a cool breeze hits me in the face. I grab the jug of cool water and pour some into the glass in my hand.
Taking a sip, I feel a bit better. The fear is still there, but it is like a window pane. The large glass prices held together with a simple white stick thing. You can see through it practically. But not quite. That is somewhat like the fear I am feeling at the moment. Bigger, though. But shrinking still.
I think I will get by. So I start to dance in the glow of refrigerator lights. I spin around and 'round. A lottle laughter bubbles up. It feels good. Like a free feeling. As if someone greater was watching out for me.
