Chapter 10

Niall's P.O.V 

We finally broke away from our kiss, leaving me wanting more but I wasn't going to pressure her into anything too quick. The way she had her head snuggled into my neck and it was as if we were a jigsaw we fit so perfectly, it was like she is my girlfriend. But then reality hit and I was reminded that she isn’t my girlfriend. It's not too soon to ask her out right? I won't look eager, I mean I am eager but she doesn't have to know that.

It's now or never I guess. Just stay cool, calm and collected Niall,

"Erm...uh...Tee, wait can I call you that?" I stutter making me look like a fool. She looks at me deep in thought,

"Yeah you can call me that but only you," She ruffles my hair and my heart does summersaults at her words, 'only you'. All my previous embarrassment fades and I'm broken out of my daze, "so what did you want to say again?" 

“Oh actually don't worry it's not important anyway." She furrows her eyebrows at me,

"Please tell me" Tee says dragging out the "e" and began poking my chest. I try not to show my amusement at her but she makes it so hard because she's so adorable. 

"Fine I'll tell you but you have to promise not to make fun of me?"

She raises her eyebrow at me, "Why would I make fun of you?"

"Because I was erm j-just wonder if you erm wanted to go on a date with me" I rushed the ending and mentally slapped myself for how lame that came out. When I saw her face I knew it was bad, it was that it's not you it's me look and I really didn't want my instinct to be true. She looks down at the carpet and brings her knees up and rests her chin on them,

"Look Niall I honestly think you're a great guy but after my date with Harry it just made it clear that I'm not in the right mind-set to be in a relationship right now, I'm sorry," I felt as though someone had just ripped out my heart and jumped on it, repeatedly. "But we can still be friends? I'd like us to be friends." Her guilty frown turned into to a small smile at the end of the sentence. 

"I understand but friends don't kiss"

Tegan's P.O.V

"But friends don't kiss"

He has a point, he probably thinks I've lead him on, which I have but it wasn't intentional it was all just in the moment. I really do like Niall though, I guess one date wouldn't hurt.

"Fine one date, make it a good'un Horan" His smile was so bright it could light up the whole world at night after I said that,

"Oh don't you worry, it will be the best night of your life princess" and I had no doubt in mind that it would be perfect but I just don't know. It's just the right guy wrong time I guess. I moved off of Nialls lap and he wrapped his arm around my waist. He softly played with my hair and soon I felt my self-drift off into a deep sleep. 

*a few hours later*

I was woken out of my peaceful sleep abruptly by a loud banging noise. I open one eye and see that Harry is banging a saucepan, oh wait Harry, that's awkward. "Harry I'm really sorry, I can explain I didn’t mean to-"
"Stop Tegan, I really don't care as long you're both happy. He just won't be as spontaneous as me," He gave me a genuine smile and I pulled Niall closer. "Don't get too cosy we've got to go to an interview in half an hour."

I sat myself up and flicked through my phone and my stomach grumbled a little too loudly, Harry laughs and tells me there's food in the kitchen. I make my way to the kitchen where I'm greeted by the two remaining boys I hadn't met yet. Liam and Louis were too busy eating their food to notice me and first so I poured myself some cereal and sat down. 

Liam looked up at me "Well who've we got here then?"

"Oh hi I'm Tegan"

"Can I call you Tee?" Louis asked me. I was about to reply when someone else did for me,

"No Lou you can't only I can call her that." Niall shot me a wink and pulled me into a protective hug, where his chin was resting on my head as I was quite a bit smaller than him. All the boys wiggle their eyebrows at us and Louis raised his hands up in defeat. Zayn walks into the kitchen yawning, obviously still half asleep, 

"So you two are? “He asks pointing his finger between the two of us

"We're just friends" We both quickly say and I pull myself away from mine and Niall's embrace. 

Liam looks suspiciously at Niall and smirked, "Well I thought by the way Niall went on and on and on about you he would have at least-" Liam was stopped by a spoon from my cereal being thrown across the room at him. Liam let out a deep laugh

"Really Niall a spoon? That was a low blow even for you" Niall let out a laugh in response and I had decided that it was my favourite sound ever. 

"It was worth a shot

"Well as lovely as the conversation is I have to get going to uni, I graduate soon and it's all crazy at the moment"

"That's cool when do you graduate?" Louis asked 

"Erm in like 3 weeks" I say whilst putting my shoes on and walking to do the door. Niall follows me and scratches his neck,

"Wait I can drive you?"

"Thanks for the offer but my cars down the road"

"Tee I was trying to be all spontaneous and stuff."

"Hey! Spontaneous is my thing back off!" Harry says whilst laughing. We both laugh with him and I hug Niall good bye.

"See you Saturday Tee" I nod and wave as I walk down the driveway and wonder what on earth have I let myself in for. 

Niall's P.O.V 

As the door shut I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I walked back into the kitchen and all 4 boys are smirking at me. I look away blushing a bit because I know they're going to tease me about Tee.

"So you got yourself a hot date on Saturday huh?" I go even redder and just nod as my mouth is full.

Louis looks over at the boys and says, "It's a shame we have an interview of Saturday isn't it lads"

"Oh damnit Niall you're going to cancel on her." Zayn joins in

"No way am I cancelling, she just agreed to the date and I already have an idea. I'll just lie and say I'm sick." I feel myself getting abut angry as I finally had my chance with Tee and now it may not even happen. All the boys start laughing,

"Ah Niall you got it bad man, we don't have an interview we just wanted to see your reaction" Liam said in between laughs, "pay back for the spoon I guess"

I give them all a glare and pretend to be offended and walk off. When really I'm walking off to go start planning our date. 

It's got to be a night to remember that's for sure.
