"I have another week off," Jungkook said, as he was looking through his luggage.
Our honeymoon was slowly coming to an end. We had two more nights before we had to return. Or perhaps we could prolong our stay but I wasn't sure what Jungkook meant by his comment. Was it him suggesting we could stay or suggesting another vacation spot? He struggled to get adjusted to living here. And the word "living" doesn't fit properly for our stay. It's definitely at a different pace from the city, it's quieter but can carry more work when you have land and animals to care for. He must've sensed my confusion because he started talking again.
"What I meant to say is that we can stay longer if you don't have anything scheduled. I don't know if you'll start working right away or have time to relax before going back into doing all the crazy schedules. I made sure to give myself time to decorate our new house and adjusted to the married life or at least my manager suggested that I should. After a few months I'll book myself like before but for now I have to enjoy the married life." He seemed annoyed about the last part but I understood why everyone on the outside would think there would be much to enjoy together. After all, we're supposed to be madly in love.
"My schedule doesn't start up right away," I say. I'm already thinking of calling manager Jung to see if he can move some things around for me to stay at least another week or perhaps a few days more. "I'll just verify with my manager. Do you want to stay here or go anywhere else? I'm going to let you decide. I know you weren't too happy about this place."
"I said we could stay longer but we could go back. It doesn't matter. It's not my family here. I was just being nice because they continue to say they don't see you enough and you're like a puppy too," he sighs and I can't make out what emotion the sigh gives. I'm reading too much into it. Why do I continue to look into every detail? Even his breathing is something I over analyze.
"Alright, I'll make a call to make sure I haven't been booked for anything else. I'll let you decide where our next trip will be."
"What makes you so sure we'll have another trip?" He narrows his eyes.
"Unless you want a quick divorce then I guess not. But I'm sure we both agreed that this had to endure for some time before getting a divorce. I assume we'll be seeing each other for a few years. Didn't we buy a house to make our home?"
"Talking of divorce already? Weren't you the one who wanted to be careful around your parents? If we're going to let everything out now, then let's talk about how you were having an affair with a married man. I'm sure your parents would like to overhear that." The sarcasm is there and annoyance too. I want nothing more than to shake him or punch him. He's overstepping boundaries— again.
"What? You didn't like what I said? It's true, so why are you getting angry?" I swear he's trying to provoke me.
I walk up to him ready to do something. I didn't know if I would punch him, push him, or see what his reaction would be. I just needed to get this anger off. Before I even touched him, I turned around to walk away. There would be repercussions and this isn't something I want to happen even though my anger was getting the best of me.
Would there be times when I'd feel this way? He had always annoyed me but never to the point where I was willing to do something about it. I need to control myself, if this is going to work.
"What did you say?" I ask incredulously. I can't believe what I'm hearing over the phone.
"Min YoonGi wants to talk to you about becoming the face of his brand. It's not something we can pass up. Your husband was also one of the brand ambassadors. I think they'll try to pitch the idea of both of you doing a shoot together. First, they would have to get him to sign with them again. Either way, it's just an idea of mine— nothing confirmed. We talked for a bit, we were ready to sign but he said he wanted to talk to you personally before signing anything."
