Why did it have to be me?

Chapter 17

London's POV
    I was standing in the kitchen drinking a cup of tea waiting for Niall. Today we are going to get stuff for Addison's nursery. I'm excited. I tried to forget about the kiss but when I woke up this morning that was the first thing that I thought about. I don't know why I can't get it out of my head. Why can't I stop thinking about the stupid kiss?

     "Alright are you ready?" Niall asked walking into the kitchen. "Yeah let's go." I said. "Hey you okay?" Niall asked. "Yeah my back is killing me." I said. "I'm sorry." He said. "It's fine." I said. The ride to the mall wasn't as weird as I thought I would be. I think Niall forgot about the kiss I mean why would he remember. Why would he even care? Why do I still care? "You sure you want to do this today you don't look to good?" Niall asked. "Yeah I'll be fine." I said.

    "I used to have one just like this." I said showing a pink and black blanket to Niall. "Well than maybe Addison deserves one to." Niall said taking it from me and placing it in the cart. "Is there anything that was special to you growing up?" I asked Niall. "Yeah my dad got me my first guitar at 4 I still have it." Niall said picking up a white teddy bear. "Wow I guess you really have always loved music." I said. "Music is a way to speak about your feelings without actually speaking out. It's a way for me to be myself without getting judged." Niall said.

    "I get it your a privet guy who likes to show his feelings without actually showing them." I said. "Yeah that's me." Niall said with a smile. What is happening? "I already have the furniture we don't have to worry about that." I said. Niall gave me a smile and nodded. Niall and I went to about 3 stores and got the things that we liked. I'll say this was a successful trip.

    "When we get back to the house you go and get some rest." Niall said. "I'm okay I'll be fine." I said. "London it's obvious your in pain please get some rest I'll ask if one of the boys wanna come and help me with the nursery." Niall said. "Alright fine it it will make you happy." I said. I know Niall is trying to help but I hope he will work on the nursery because the baby is coming in less than 2 months and things just keep getting stressful and I can't deal with that.

    "Niall your positive you can do this I can stay up and help you." I said walking into my house. "London Liam and Zayn are coming to help we will be fine go get some rest." Niall is way to nice. "Everything is in her room I'll worry about the decorations." I said. "You don't trust me?" Niall asked. "Of course I do I just have a certain way I want it to look." I said. Niall gave a smirk and I walked to my room.

Niall's POV
    "Thanks for coming guys." I said letting Zayn and Liam in.  "No problem always happy to help." Liam said. "So what's Harry and Louis doing today?" Zayn asked. "Louis is with Briana and Harry is with some friends I guess." I said. I led them to the room and there where 4 boxes. I'm guessing it's the crib, dresser, rocking chair and stool. "Okay let's get started." I said. "So where is London?" Liam asked while opening the box to the chair. "Shes in pain so I told her to go rest so she's sleeping." I said. "Oh, Niall you can't tell us you do not have some sort of feelings for her." Zayn said.

    That is when the kiss came to my head I have finally forgotten about that and then it came back. "Uh no I don't like her." I said. "Your lying." Liam said. "I don't I promise it's just last night I kinda kissed her." I said scratching the back of my head. I hate talking about this shit. "Mate you kissed her?" Zayn asked. "Well I didn't mean to I quess I just got caught in the moment." I said. "Or you just like her but you don't want to talk about it." Liam said. "Look even if I did like her I wouldn't put in through the pain of dating me. I suck at relationships, I'm never around, I can't love someone and it sucks loving me." I said.

    "Ni we are sorry but you have to deal with her for the rest of your life." Liam said. "Can we just get to work?" I asked. I can't have London love me I can't put her through that pain. Dating me is like dating a ghost I'm never around. I can't be there for her and I'm not ever there for her now as it is and it sucks. After January I will only be back for a month than it's back on the road. I'm going to miss everything. I don't want my baby girl to grow up without a dad but this is my job and I love it to much to just give up.

    "And done." I said standing up and looking at the crib. "Damn mate that was fast."Zayn said. "Liams done with the stool and chair what are you doing?" I asked. "I'm almost done give me a sec." Zayn said. Zayn that gave Liam and I a smile and stepped back. "There see finished." Zayn said. I patted him on the back and led the to the living room. "She's been sleeping for a good 3 hours." Liam said. "Yeah doesn't surprise me she wasn't really feeling well." I said. "That sucks." Liam said.

    "When's her due date?" Zayn asked. "First week of November." I said. "Getting close mate." Liam said with a smile. "I know I'm excited."I said. "Well I gotta say I didn't think this is something you would want to be a part of. Your a very laid back nice guy but you also like to party this is a big step." Zayn said. "Yeah I know." I said. "Have you met her dad yet?" Liam asked. "Oh yeah you'll never guess who it is." I said. Liam and Zayn both gave me confused looks. "Greg Conners." I said. "Dude what he never said anything about having kids." Zayn said. "Yeah i know but we talked to him last night he was pretty chill out it." I said.

     "Oh hey guys." London said with a yawn.  Liam and Zayn gave her a smile and waved. "How are you feeling?" I asked as she sat next to me on the couch. "A little better." She said with a smile. "So are you ready for the baby?" Zayn asked. "Yeah just a little scared." She said. "I'm sure it will all be okay." Zayn said. "Where are the other two?" She asked. "Harry's with some friends and Louis is with his girlfriend Briana." Liam said. "Huh that name sounds familiar." London said. Liam pulled out his phone and showed her a picture of Briana. "Oh my God That's my friend we went to school together she mentioned having a boyfriend but not Louis." She said.

    "Is she nice." I asked. "Yeah she is." She said with a smile. "So you went to school together?" Zayn asked. "Yeah her mom and my mom met in high school and have been friends so yeah. She also knows my friend Mason." I said. "Mason?" I asked. Why do I care? "Oh he has been my friend since we where little kids." She said. "Oh that's nice." I said. "I think I'm going to order out tonight I don't feel like cooking." London said. "Okay that's fine." I said. "Are you guys staying?" She asked. "No we are going to head out before it gets to late." Zayn said. "Okay thank you guys for helping." I said as they left the house.

     "What do you want for supper?" She asked. "Doesn't matter to me I'll eat anything." I said with a smile. "P.F Chang's it is." She said. I told her what I wanted and than she placed the order. Now we where just sitting on the couch watching tv. It was kinda awkward from last night but I don't think I should talk about just yet. "Oh she's moving a lot look." She said. "That's amazing." I said with a smile.   She took my hand and placed it on top of her stomach. She shot me a smile. "Thank you." I said. "For what?" She asked. "Letting me be a part of all of this." I said with a smile. "No thank you for agreeing to be apart of this." She said with a smile.

     It was a moment like this that I realized I like London.
